Room ideas?!???????????????????!?

Somebody C

im 13 almost 14 and im designing my room. I have no price limit. I had an idea and i tought of another one. Im moving to the 3rd floor in my house and its a huge room! I was thinking I would get a four post bed that I hang curtains on (saw it in teen vogue). Silver curtains like this cool material ik what it is. The bed frame would be wood and painted black. Then I'd get all black furniture and tiffany blue walls. IThen I had another idea of getting my walss tiffanny blue and then getting all white furniture! im getting a 42 inch plasma screen tv also. Which one is better. black silver and tiffanny blue of all what and tiffany blue walls? if you have anymore ideas please tell me!

Answer
The white and tiffany blue is more classic, whereas the silver will seem gimmicky after awhile. I like the black painted 4 poster bed, however, but with white curtains.

If you get all white upholstered furniture, make sure it has removable slipcovers for easy cleaning, because it will show dirt (and have it scotchguarded, too.)

This room would be beautiful (and very grown up and traditional) with some dark wood antiques, and gold framed paintings. You could make it more youthful and modern with framed art and music posters. Something 60s psychelic would be cool - ie, Beatle Yellow Submarine, perhaps.

Also brass, and Asian accents. And a few big plants.

I hope you realize what a lucky kid you are.

single mom here, looking for christmas idea's for my kids i just lost my job due to my ashma? ideas 2 help?

Q. just looking for some small ideas that wont cost much , but to give them some kind of a nice christmas? even home ade stuff maybe?i am starting out with nothing so some thing had to be better then nothing? i am open to segestions. please help .

Answer
Hopefully your kids are relatively young...if not, these ideas probably won't work.

Idea 1: You can plan a "christmas vacation" filled with camping out in the living room, watching (reading) christmas books/movies borrowed from a local library, making microwave smores, going to see christmas lights around town, going to a special christmas event at a local art center or museum (free of course!)

Idea 2: Have you thought of making "coupon books" for them?you can have coupons for things like: "You kept your room tidy for a week! Worth a trip to the zoo" or something similar.... rewards that require little or no cost is great, too. "have mom make your bed one day" little things like this can be very exciting for young kids, especially ones who have a chore they don't like doing.

Idea 3: Prehaps find a place willing to give you a very inexpensive or free christmas tree....have the kids make homemade decorations for the tree. you can make some really neat things with basic art supplies like popcorn, paper, felt, glue, foam sheets, popsicle sticks, etc.... (let the kids get creative with odds and ends around the house?)
