Answer
(1) How to Plan a Baby Shower:

You don't have to be Martha Stewart to plan a baby shower to remember. Honoring your special friend or relative with a shower is a touching gesture in itself. How you add your personal touch will send it over the top. Plan a baby shower that the mom-to-be will love.

Instructions
1

Choose a date for the shower. Typically reserved for weekends so that out-of-town guests can attend, the shower will likely need to work for several people's schedules.

2

Ask the new mom to create a guest list as early as possible. It will give you an idea of how many people you can accommodate in a certain venue, while providing you with other important planning info.

3

Choose a theme. What is mom doing for the nursery decor? If the baby has yet to be born, does she know if a boy or girl is on the way? Using the mom's input, find a theme you'll both have fun with.

4

Select and mail invitations. Choose or make invitations based on the theme.

5

Choose what foods to serve. Finger foods are usually a hit--from cheese and crackers, various dips and fruits and veggies to an array of desserts. Avoid serving alcoholic beverages out of respect for the guest of honor.

6

Create or purchase a cake for the baby shower. Bakeries have many fun themes to accommodate the theme of the shower you're hosting.

7

Choose decorations. You may opt for the traditional balloons and streamers, or do something different with fresh flowers as centerpieces.

8

Plan a few games for fun. There are a variety to choose from, from over-the-top goofy to plain and simple, like guessing the number of jelly beans in a baby bottle. The Internet is a great resource for finding creative entertainment for your group.

9

Purchase a special book for the mom-to-be to place memories, details about gifts given and photos from the special day.

10

Buy packages of thank-you cards in advance and have guests self-address their envelopes. You'll save the new mom time when she goes to write her cards.

(2) How to Host a Baby Shower

When celebrating an event as joyous as a baby's imminent arrival, you can be as silly - or as traditional or creative - as you want to be.

Instructions
1

Give yourself plenty of time to plan. Showers usually take place in the seventh or eighth month of pregnancy.

2

Decide whether the shower is for women only. Traditionally, you throw a baby shower for the mother-to-be, with only female friends and relatives as guests. But today, showers that include men - with both expectant parents as guests of honor - have become increasingly popular.

3

Determine the time of day and location - making sure above all that it's convenient for the guest(s) of honor - and approximately how many guests you'd like to invite.

4

Decide whether to make the shower a surprise. Keep your honorees' personalities in mind - remember that not everyone likes surprises.

5

Think about possible shower themes, such as teddy bears, bottles or balloons. Or pick a gift theme like 'Around the House,' assigning each guest to bring a baby gift for use in a different room - the kitchen, the bedroom, the bathroom and so forth. (It's OK to ask for more than one gift per room.)

6

Create a guest list. If the shower is not a surprise, consult the guests of honor about whom they'd like to invite; if it is a surprise, consult a close friend or relative to make sure you don't leave anyone out.

7

Send out invitations at least three weeks in advance. Include directions, surprise-party instructions if applicable, and the theme, if you've chosen one. If possible, mention the color scheme and theme of the baby's room as well.

8

Find out if the parents-to-be are registered for gifts at a particular store. Have this information ready in case any of the guests ask.

9

Make a table centerpiece composed of flowers, a basket and candles, bouquets of baby socks or a baby doll - or buy a centerpiece at a party store. Coordinate the centerpiece and decorations with your theme, if you've chosen one.

10

Decide if you want guests to play any games. If so, buy small gifts for the winners - some possible prizes could be plants, blank books, candles and bookmarks.

11

Make food, buy takeout or hire a caterer. Don't forget supplies - cups, plates, napkins and utensils.

12

At the shower, keep track of presents as the guests of honor open them - this will help them when they're writing thank-you notes.

Answer
Dad in a polo shirt. Mom in a coordinated outfit. Son in a baseball uniform and daughter running around in a tutu while waving her magic wand granting wishes on the white picket fence.

Yard is green as the emerald gemstone and garden is neat as a starched sheet folded in 45 degree corners from the bed.

Son's room has trophies and alien posters and oak furniture while the little girl's is in all pink with a matching accents on a enamel white canopy bed. Barbie can be seen everywhere

Mom and pops room's master bathroom matches the decor of the bedroom. 2 different kinds of game consoles, 4 TVs, DVD-R, a swimming pool and beside it sits the rustic BBQ pit grill for Dad to wear his "Kiss the Chef" apron laying lazily near the grill awaiting to be called to culinary duty. Mom will flit in and out to hand her man the necessary ingredients and serving up a foreign brand bottled beer and mixing sweet lemonade with added fresh lemon slices kissing the glass for visual invitation.

That is what flashes through my mind
