fairy tale inspired room?

for an interior design class i am making a fairy tale inspired childrens bedroom.

there is no budget and the room is for a girl age 7-9

what stories should i include, also what certain furniture/murals should i add?

I would first start asking around to see what your age group is really into. It could be princess which is typical, circus, mermaids, brats kids, barbie, princess fairy's or jungle.

Once you know what your group is into, then search it out. With today, I would not even be surprised if it is electronic related. So, it could be robotic or space age, even for girls.

Here are a few links though for some ideas. At that age, they have a definite feel of their world. Might be safari or earth related. I know it sounds strange, but kids are ego friendly and a little more worldly. Hollywood themes and retro are really big. Flower power, polka dots and stripes. Castles will always be big.
