My son will be turning 1, and his grandparents are wanting to decorate his room for his birthday. He'll have this theme till he's about 5, or is able to decide on a theme he'd like instead. We're moving into a house 2 days after his birthday, so what better time to do it now! When he was born, we had a teddy bear theme in his room at our apartment. What other themes are there?
- Teddy Bear
- Dinosaur
- Sports
- ???????
Answer
Your baby will do best in a room that doesn't have a theme. Just colorful bedding and an uncluttered room.
Don't buy new crib bedding now. wait till he is out of his crib and into a twin sized bed so it won't be a waste .
Enjoy what you have,

I need ideas for a boys bedroom...?

He's eight years old. He wanted red, and against my better judgement, we painted it red and now everyone, including my son, hates it. So now we have the difficult task of covering up fire engine red paint!!! How many coats of primer will it take?? Also, please give me some ideas for a boys room icluding a nice cool paint color that doesn't overwhelm the rest of the house. His room is fairly small and doesn't get much sunlight, so something that will make it bright and cheery but still look normal.
Answer
Hi Amanda !
Try applying Kiltz over the red paint, it does a great job hiding the other color. Maybe use red as an accent color, esp. since the room is small and does not get much sunlight.
what are his hobbies or interests ? Does he collect anything?
Talk to someone at a do it yourself home improvement store. They will help you.
I like light blue like the sky, or light yellow like sunlight, for the walls for a boy's small bedroom and then decorate according to his interests... dinosaurs, camping, insects, cars, trucks or motorcycles, trains, firemen, policemen, wild animals, farm animals, pets.
Good luck to you and your family!
