Q. Ok, so I might be moving, and I would have my own room finally (after sharing a room with my sister for 13 years, I am 13) so this bedroom is like my dream bedroom that I always wanted. It has a window seat with storage underneath it, I have always wanted one and it has a double closet. (not a walk in closet but with a coat rack and a shelf on top) I think this room is like what I always have wanted. but what are some good colors and decorations? I like to be very neat (and im 13 *gasp*)
ideas anyone? thanks(:

Answer
I think you should takes your interests and make a room out of that.
For example, if you like ballet, make your bedroom look like a dance studio. Or if you like nature, make it look like a jungle or a garden. Be creative and choose a fun theme. If you aren't really into one certain thing, then pick a few colors that look really good together and make a room like that. Just have fun doing it, and make it say you!
(Here are some cool color combinations:)
*Aqua, Purple and Light Pink
*Lime Green, Bright Blue and Electric Orange
*Red, Black and White
*Pink, Pale Green and White
etc.

Teenage girl bedroom decorating ideas? ?
Q. My room looks like a 7 year old girls room and i need help with decorating ideas. I am 16 years old and i am preppy and love fashion. My room currently has off white walls with a pinky/purply accent wall. I have medium colour brown furniture and purple top curtains.
I want a new bed blanket and pillows and i want to make a color scheme that would go with pinky/purply wall and purple curtain tops. I CANT paint my room.
links would be great.
ALSO i live in canada, so if you can give me stores that are located in canada.

Answer
There are three themes that come to mind for me with pinky/purple colors: SW US and in particular New Mexico; sunsets over water; indigienous Guatamala, Bolivia, and Peru.
Your room sounds like it is already set up with a girly tone. You can update that feel with blue denim, blue jeans, and crochet/tatting style lace.
I think that plaids are on their way back in a stronger way. Maybe you can find some plaids (or stripes) that will take in some of the colors you have as light accents/slpash accents but lead the color scheme towards a blue or green. Plaids lend themselves more towards a preppy look.
Is there a way to change the curtains? used? something made? something made from used, re-purposed fabric? It sounds like the pinky/purply wall could be worked with on its own but, that the purple curtains re-affirm the wall color as being a pink and purple, little girl, theme.
