kids bedroom furniture packages image

Hey, do you like this style of writing, how can i improve it? Btw, i know my punctuation and spelling might not be the best, this is just a draft. :)
Tears streamed down my face as i lay there in huddled in a ball against my bedroom door. The screaming and the shouting coming from my parents in the room below me downstairs was unbearable, almost painfull to listen to, and it was impossible to escape from no matter where i went or how tight i put my hands around my ears. Surely parents aren't supposed to argue this much, it's not normal, it's not right, it's not something i can cope with anymore. I'm sick to death of hearing it, "YOU BLOODY B****, YOUR PARANOID,", " I SAW YOU WITH HER, I SAW YOU, YOU CAN'T LIE TO ME LIKE THIS ANYMORE, I'M OUT OF HERE," was the usual one between them, my mom has always been insecure about herself and so is always paranoid dad has been with some other woman, i have to say i'm on my dad's side for this type of argument, she IS paranoid, i think it's ridiculous how she tries to make up situations where she 'saw' dad cheating on her just so he will admit to something he hasn't done. "YOUR TIRED? TIRED? WHAT THE F*** AHVE YOU BEEN DOING ALL DAY WHILST I WAS WORKING MY ARSE OF ALL DAY AT WORK YOU LAZY SLOB,", " Well, I'VE BEEN LOOKNIG AFTER OUR KID, DO YOU REMEMBER HER?" was another one, Dad works, Mom doesn't she lookes after me, and when i say look after me i mean that on the lowest level possible. She feeds me (crap, usually beans, packaged meals and anything cheap that she can stick in the microave), she gives me somewhere to sleep, i suppose my room is quite nice, purpley lilac with yellow flowers and a mathcing bed cover with cream furniture, chosen by me. And she makes me go to school, well i wouldn't exactly say make considering i've been bunking off about 2 days a week for 3 weeks now, i've never been clever and i don't think my parents are particually bothered about my grades, they have enough money to live and that's all that matters. She doesn't do anything else, she doesn't take me out like normal mums would, we don't go to the cinemas or watch tv toghether, we don't go to the park or go on girly shopping trips , infact come to think of it i can't remember the last time i had a conversation with her and i'm not exactly your typical hormonal teenager infct i'm quite lively, so i think it's quite obvious that she basically doesn't give a shit. At least she's better than dad, he goes to work, goes for a drink in the local pub argues with mum and sleeps, thats literally all he does and his work isn't exactly hard, i don't think anyway all i know is he works in his office and to me only being 15, that's not hard.

I can see an error in the first sentence. The line "as i lay ther in huddled in" That is a simple error, nevertheless it is an error that will see you not get published just for that. I think you have potential and I understand it is a first draft, heck my first draft are full of errors that when I edit them I am like WTF? lol, anyway never get disheartned from what anyone on Y/A says because some people deliberately try to put people down on here. You have skill, just keep at it and never let anyone tell you to stop writing or give up.
P.S. I am not putting you down, I just spotted a few errors and thought I would tell you in the nicest way possible :)

How did you prepare your house for foster care?
Teresa
My husband and I are starting the process to become foster parents. We have 2 bedrooms designated as kids rooms in the house already- one blue, one pink. We are open for children 0-5yrs. Do I need to have a crib, toddler bed and twin bed in my house before placement just in case? and Should I have an infant carseat, five point harness and a booster seat? I know there is financial help to get the child clothes once they are placed in your home, but should I have clothes already in case the child comes with nothing? I'm asking because with the age range we are preparing for, It seems impossible to be ready for anything.
Answer
As a general rule when a child/ren is placed with you the agency you are fostering through provide you with a basic short term care package comprising of bottles, nappies, change of clothes, blanket, book, toy, etc depending on the age of the child. They will also provide you with any furniture and equipment that you may need and vouchers for clothing. However, this is usually very slow in arriving and like you I wanted to be prepared for any child who arrived. I also wanted to buy decent items of my own, some of what you're given is 3rd, 4th, 5th hand etc.
I fostered 0-6 years, here's a list of what I had prepared once my application was approved:
-2 convertible cots. They went from a cot, to a small toddler bed to a junior bed.
-An assortment of used, good condition clothing (bought as cheaply as 50C-$1). I just got a couple of unisex items from newborn sizes up to older children. What you don't use immediately can be put away for later or donated. Once the child arrived and was settled I bought their own wardrobe.
-Some basic toys, again bought used, quite cheaply, and given a good clean. Family and friends will probably also help you out here. I was given boxes of baby rattles and pull along toys, some leggo sets, books etc for free and the rest I picked up at garage sales and op-shops. Just a couple of things for each age group is enough. Again I bought their personal toys once they arrived.
-A couple of sample packets of nappies. I got 3 of each size nappy for $1 from Target, also try emailing Huggies, etc for free samples of shampoo, baby wipes, wash, etc. A twin pack of basic bottles also only cost a couple of dollers. It was enough to get through a few days with an infant, in case they didn't come with anything, before I could stock up on the right sizes, creams, etc.
-I had my own carseats already but if you don't they will give you one, and usually family or friends can help out with one on loan.
-Childproofing. I had all of this done before my last home visit. It really saves you time and energy getting it done before you're placed with a child and it's really important.
-I got an assortment of kid's cutlery and plates, bowls, etc. Again just a couple of unisex things to see them through for a couple of days.
It's really up to you what you get and you will be provided with things, but I just found it really helpful to be prepared. I also wanted to have the first couple of days with each child to help them settle in without having to rush out shopping. And it doesn't have to become expensive, make second hand shops and garage sales your friend!
Good luck.
