I want some art to hang in my sons room and playroom. I want them to be homemade and cheap. He is almost two. I am not talking about macaroni art or coloring sheets that he makes. Tonight I made a cool silhouette of him made out of scrapbook paper. I would like other ideas like that. Just things to make his room more fun and colorful. Thank You.

It depends on what type of interests your boy has..i know he is only 2 but i am sure you can already tell the kind of things he likes...here are some ideas off the top of my head:

You can frame pictures or posters and hang them on the wall: you can buy posters of almost anything (dinosaurs, cars, zoo animals, sports, cartoon characters, etc) for very cheap at places like walmart. You can also put family photos in frames and hang them on the wall. You can buy different frames at a thift store (or use extras you have around the house) and spray paint them all the same color (or a couple of coordinating colors) to make them look less mismatched. If plain framed pictures sound too boring you could put bright colored pieces of paper behind the photos (to act as a matte) to give the pictures more color. You could also print pictures offline or from clipart and hang those in frames too (think clip art of baseball players for a sports themed room..or cowboys..ect)

You can hang your child's own art up in his room. You can take pictures he has finger painted or scribbled :) and hang them up on a "clothes line" across the wall with colorful clothes pins.

You can make curtains and throw pillows out of fabric (look for ones on sale or at discount stores like walmart) that fit with your color scheme or theme. No sew curtains are easy to make..you can simply take a piece of fabric and use iron on hem tape to hem the edges and then attach the curtains to the rod with clip on hooks. You can also take an old lamp and spray paint the base to match the room and cover the lamp shade in fabric. You can use a hot glue gun to attach the fabric to the shade.

You can paint the walls a fun or bright color or pattern (like stripes) in colors that match the rooms decor.

You can use stick on wall decals. These can be purchased for very cheap online and at retail stores and come in all sorts of styles, colors, and pictures. You can google "wall decals" for online stores that sell them.

You can use stencils (or if you are artsy try free hand) to paint shapes or pictures on your sons walls. You can also use stencils or wall paper to put a border around the room.

You can paint a wall or a portion of a wall of your sons room with chalk board paint and let him do some art!

You could make wall shelves out of pieces of wood from your local hardware store and L brackets. You could paint the shelves a coordinating color and put your sons books, stuffed toys, or pictures in frames on them.

You could make a head board for your sons bed by getting a piece of ply wood and covering it in batting and fabric and leaning it against the wall behind your sons bed. You can attach the fabric with a hot glue gun to the back of the plywood.

You could buy wooden letters (or cut some by hand out of cardboard) to spell out your sons name and then paint them (or decorate them in some other way) and hang them on the wall. If you want to cut out your own but think that they will look sloppy you could print out the letter in a chunky font you like on your computer then cut out the letter from paper and use it as a stencil for the cardboard.

I need help with a new room design, pretty much just decor?

You can go to walmart, target, pretty much anyware. So are you just wanting posters or like bed spreads, lamps, etc...? Hope this helps!
