bedroom decor for young couple image
Laurel
My room is very boring, and I want to give it a new, unique look. I would like some decorating ideas. For example, fake flowers in a vase, or a CD hanging mobile (I already have one of these!), or those glow-in-the-dark stars for your walls and ceilings. My room has no particular color scheme, so go crazy with your ideas! Thanks :)
Answer
I would go with the glow-in-the-dark-stars idea. I've painted everything from butterflies to beetles, dragonflies to moths on a couple of my friends' bedroom ceiling. What I do is paint the glow stars first in deep blue or green and then add the extra elements based on the scene I want to recreate.
Bedroom designs work best when you work around a well-defined theme. Take the decor of the rest of the room into consideration so that the colors, lighting and your own likes and dislikes are accounted for.
This past week I designed my younger brother's bedroom ceiling around a classic deep space theme. The key is to include as many fresh elements as possible to make it authentic. Stars, constellations, aliens, planets, meteors, galaxies... The glow-in-the-dark paint gave the starscape mural an entirely awesome look.

Interior design inspiration?
.
I am a young adult and am moving into my first apartment in a couple weeks. The color scheme will be strictly black, white, and red. I am a fan of modern looks, while mixing timeless items in as well. I will be living in a studio, so too much furniture will not be necessary.
Does anyone know where I can find inspiration or rooms that look like what I just described? Thanks in advance.

may i suggest you go buy some renovator, designer magazines for inspiration.
