Calling creative, think outside the box types - toddler boy bedroom decor dilemma?

When my 2 yr old boy was 5 mos old, I bought a used race car toddler bed from a friend at a good price. I've stored it since then. Now that he's almost ready for the move to the toddler bed, I'm faced with the dilemma of decorating his room.

The thing is that his interest and love is animals, specifically safari type animals, like zebra, giraffe, elephant, lion, tiger, etc. He loves watching Diego and his animals, and is absolutely enthralled with the Madagascar movies, Kung Foo Panda, and Happy Feet.

His room currently doesn't have a theme, but when he moves to a toddler bed, I'm going to decorate it. I want to do it in animals, obviously.

I'm looking for any ideas about how I could possibly incorporate the race car bed into a jungle safari. Or, do you think it even matters? Or, do you think I should sell the bed, and get something different (my least favorite option, just due to not having time or energy to try to sell the race car bed).

I like the idea of painting the racecar bed a khaki color and turning it into a safari vehicle, there are tons of plastic paints available.

Or, turn it into a jungle race, make little cloth helmets for his animals w/ numbers on them, and teach him how to "race" w/ them. That would be absolutely adorable and unique ;)

Hot Wheels or Marvel comic heroes for 4 year old's bedroom?

I am trying to decide whether to go with a Hot Wheels or Marvel Comic heroes (Wolverine, Spiderman, Fantastic Four, etc.) theme for my son's bedroom. He loves them both, so I want to use the one he will still like in a couple years. Any preferences and if so, can you give me some decorating ideas and places where I can buy everything?
