So I know I have asked this question before but I am asking again so please help me! So I moved into the house i live in now when I was two years old. I still have the same bedroom which is about the size of a dorm room maybe a bit smaller. Now I will tell you flat out that my parents can be are cheap on a lot of things. Six years ago my brother was born and got the guest room which is bigger and more spacious than mine. Note until I was nine I was an only child. I did not want a sibling thought if I did everything right he just wouldnt come. So when my mom asked if i wanted the bigger room I said no. I said no for many reasons. For one i wanted part of my life to stay the same I also as i said was hoping he just wouldnt come. I was nine and scared what can i say? Anyway since my bro has been born I have gotten my walls re-painted by my dad and the same furniture i have had re-arranged. Thats it! I got to do that when I was about 11 years old. Now i am almost 15 and I kind of want a bigger room and a room that refelects me who I am. I honestly do not see any reason a six year old little boy needs a bigger room than an 15 year old teenage girl. I do not want all new furniture bed or anything
I want:
The bigger room-my brothers
To Paint it
Get a Duvet
New lamp possibly
Thats basically it. My furniture is easy to go with anything as it is natural looking. Anyway i need help with two things:
Thing One: HOW and HELP to get my parents to agree to get me that room. I was thinking about just asking every christmas, birthday, stuff like that till they get the idea but by then i will be a sophmore/junior almost in collgege and they wont agree cause i will be moving out soon. So help with that
Thing Two:Help Decorating. I want something new and fresh. NO PINK!! I live in the beach area and was thinking green/ yellow/orange but i am open to all ideas. PS help with a lamp?
Do you think this is un reasonable?
I really like this kind of room. What do you think ? http://www.zimbio.com/Teen+Bedroom+Decorating+Ideas/articles/2/Great+Teen+Bedroom+Decorating+Ideas+Girls
PLEASE HELP STILL
I like i think it is the first one of the rooms. The light blue walls and white furniture
Alice- I might see your point but my brother dosnt care and my room is this weird blue color same as his room.

First things first, you need to sit down and talk to your parents. Say "Mom and Dad I need to talk to you about something and then repeat to them everything you just told us. For God's sake don't let your lil brother hear you say you didn't want him though. I'm sure you love him. Little brothers are just a pain sometimes. As for decorating, you need to things to begin with: a theme and a color pallet. For some basic styles check out www.artsparx.com. Remember that bedrooms are supposed to be cool and relaxing so avoid bright and warm colors unless you want to use them in accent pieces like pillows and comforters etc. (this adds texture to the room) I prefer trios of two colors of the same warmth plus their tertiary (Blue+Green+Blue-Green) and a neutral like white or dark brown with accents in every color of the rainbow for art work and decor. Remember that in a restricted space function comes before fashion so everything you use should have a purpose like storage or light for reading. As for lamps, search for some Art Deco and Art Neovo.

Answer
When decorating a teen boy's bedroom the decor you decide upon will depend on the teen in question. But there are a number of different ideas that you can explore and these bedroom decorating ideas for a teenage boys space will hopefully produce a room that they will enjoy.
Color
It is a good idea to paint the walls of your teen's room in deep or vibrant colours (such as purple or blue) and then use lighter coloured furniture which will provide accent to the walls.
Wall Art and Shelving
Normally the wall art you should be looking for to decorate a teen boy's room is murals with a sports theme or motor sport theme. Look at very modern shelving in order to display any trophies that they may have on them.
Bedding
When choosing the bedding for your teen boys bedroom is to go with the flow and use that which links in to the overall theme of the room.
For example if you teens room is based on a surf theme then you could paint the walls in an ocean blue colour and then cover them with surf and surfer murals. There are plenty of places where you can purchase bedding that will perfectly match the theme that they have.
Or why not go for a solid colour theme to the room and use other colours in small amounts which will enhance the overall design of the room.
Study Area
When decorating your teen's bedroom include an area for them to study. Each teen will have a different way in which they study and there are many types of different tables available which will suit your particular teens study needs.
Lastly but by no means least, when you are looking at bedroom decorating ideas for teenage boys then you should wherever possible involve them in the whole process. You should allow them to have a say as to what colours, theme and designs they want included in the decorating as well as what kind of furniture they would like to have.
I hope this was of some help!
Good Luck, ;-)
