How to make a room look old fashioned?

I'm moving into a new bedroom. It's a loft, and it's pretty cool because it has its own staircase, it's quite dark with a slanting roof. I'm really into the whole Victorian era vintage thing.

I was thinking maybe having some old style Victorian flyers along one of the walls and stuff like that, but I was wondering what sort of colours I should think about painting the walls?

Or any other suggestions to make it look old fashioned but in a sort of vintage way? :]

Definitely have lace curtains and lace doilies. During the Victorian times burgundy, dark green,and gold were used. You could use picture frames in your room (just not modern) Stick with your theme. Old fashioned lamps, with glass chimneys would fit in with your decor. These are lamps sold today, they just look old. You may find items for your room at a consignment shop. If you go to an antique store, the prices may be quite high, but it is an option. You could also look for a Victorian style clock. There are magazines strictly devoted to this type of decorating style. Good luck! This should be a fun decorating project for you to do!!!

I have a bright floral bedspread and white walls, but the room looks boring, does anyone have any ideas of things that could go on the wall, that isn't to expensive or any places of pictures of teen bedrooms where I can get ideas? Thanks.

Hi! You can paint your walls a color you really like or that matches your bedspread. Also, fabrics for your windows would liven your room up too. Pictures and posters will help too.
