Help finding bedroom decor?

Hannah Bro

I'm looking for some bedding that matches this color palette:

And any other decor that would help accentuate those colors!

Answer
You could do a classic blue and white stripe bedding.

Target also has one.
Tan will also work well:http://www.garnethill.com/quiet-garden-quilt-and-sham/bedding-bath/quilts-coverlets-shams/view-all-quilts-coverlets-shams/279456?defattrib=&defattribvalue=&listIndex=17
Have fun decorating.

Hand washing a quilt?

Kelly

A friend recently gifted me a king size quilt which I can not fit into my washer (or dryer). The quilt is used and no longer matches her bedroom decor so now it sits in my house. Although she's very clean and tidy I prefer to wash it myself.

I don't have the time to go to a dry cleaner or laundromat with it, so is there anyway to hand wash it myself? Can I possibly fill the tub with water and a mixture of some sort than let it soak?

The quilt is not old, it has ribbon and bead accents, and the tag says it is 58% silk/ 28% linen/ 14% cotton cover.

Thanks. :)
With the holidays coming I do not have the time to run to the cleaners, with my schedule I'm just too busy.

I appreciate the answers. Having never owned a quilt, I thought there would be an easy home solution.

Answer
Washing the jelly rolls(Quilt)
1.1 Fill up a large sink or bathtub with cold water.

2.2 Put the mild detergent into the water. You can buy special hand-washing detergents at the store that work well in cold water.

3.3 Swish the water around to get the soap evenly distributed.

4.4 Unroll the jelly rolls and place them in the water.

5.5 Swirl the jelly roll fabric through the water, lightly agitating it with your hands.

6.6 Allow to soak about 15 to 20 minutes in the soapy water.

7.7 Drain the soapy water out of the sink or bathtub.

8.8 Rinse the fabric completely under running water, making sure to get all the soapy residue out of the material.

9.9 Squeeze excess water out of the fabric and lay it over a drying rack or on a towel to finish drying completely.

10.10 Iron the jelly roll before using it.
