Ideas for horse themed bedroom?

My mom just told me that this spring we're going to redecorate my room and I'm excited!! The bedding and color of the wall really has nothing to do with horses (the bedding is mostly silver with huge flowers printed on them with purple accents, the paint color will be a lilac or purpleish color). But I want some horse accents in the room, but not sure exactly what...My mom suggested putting up a shelf and then put some horse figures on it (which I think would look great!) But is there anything else we can think of?
I'm a teenager so I don't want anything too kid like...Thanks for the suggestions! ^^

There are some amazing ideas out there for horse themed rooms ranging from subtle and cheap to more out there and expensive.

Some ideas.
Painting a mural on a feature wall, this can be anything from a horse silhouette to a barn door to a whole wall dedicated to your favourite horse or just a few horse themed decals. Links in Source.

You could swop your door out for a moor barn themed door either a half door or a sliding door

Paint it white to keep it more subtle

You could add beams to your ceiling

You can do this cheaply by using sheet wood (MDF) and 2x2s to create hollow false beams. Stain them dark or paint them white. You could also keep it more of a wood look by cladding the ceiling in wood like the second pic.

You can use horse shoes as decoration or hanging storage
These can often be quite pricey to make but if your dad or granddad is handy he could probably make some for a lot cheaper, ask your local farrier for any old shoes.

You can frame some vintage horse prints and create a feature wall using those
Use google image search to search for nice pictures, if you have a decent printer then you can print them yourself or get them printed for you. Put them in cheap frames (Dollar Store, thrift store), you can recover the frames or leave as is and create a nice wall of pics

Turn your bed into a show jump.

Simply use some 2x2s and a couple of poles and paint to desired colours.

Keep it subtle by adding large (or small) canvas with black and white prints on them

I'm redoing my bedroom. I don't want it to be little kid like, so no pinks or purple. I was thinking maybe like yellow and grey? But I can't decide. Somebody give me some ideas!!!

purple and pink isn't a childish color it just depends on the way you decorate it. my bedroom looks like a regular cute teen bedroom(purple) but luckily i just got my room redone too and i was looking at colors like not too long ago so try these

you can do wall patters so you could try grey and yellow one wall yellow and the other grey:)
