Help With Bedroom Decor Ideas?

Im designing a room for a 17 year old and she is stuck between 2 themes.
She either wants a sort of 1920's Old Hollywood Glam or a Cirque de Soliel themed bedroom.
Her request for the Old Hollywood Glam room is a little different though. She doesn't so much want a Hollywood Movie theme more of a Roaring 20's Showgirl type decor. I have ideas that she likes but few. DIY projects are definately welcomed.
I'd appreciate the help =)

I don't know much about decorating, but I like the Cirque de Soliel idea. Maybe you could buy sort of theatre curtains for the windows, and paint the walls rich purple or green colors. Also candles might look cool.
I don't know too much about either of those themes, so sorry I can't be of more help!

I'm redecorating my apt- and need some ideas for my bedroom. I have dark wood furniture and am pretty simplistic in style. My boyfriend lives with me and does not want anything too girly in the room. I was thinking of doing a white bedding with accent pillows in light yellow, green and blue. (I found some great ones at Macys). I was also thinking I could do a colored sheet in one of those colors. I was planning on painting the walls a neutral tan but do not know if this will make the room too boring (as the carpet is tan as well). Any ideas of wall color, other decor ideas or bedding ideas? Thanks!

First, are you sure that your guy will be okay with a bunch of throw pillows on the bed. A lot of guys hate this.

Second, I would think about artwork. If you have ideas and the budget for the right artwork, I think white and beige with some accent colors can look good. But it needs to be well pulled together. If you pick more interested bedding and a coordinating wall color a room can look pulled together more easily.
