what are some good color combinations that go with that color

Answer
Hey I'm 13 and a design freak :D Everthing below is Target my FAVORITE place to get a room makeover. For your color scheme I'd go with your blue, lime greem, a chocolate brown, and if you want a dark pink (not light, we grew outta that!)

What you might want for a lamp is something fun and colorful but affordable. This a a 5 light stand lamp and the lights bend so that you can use it for extra light on your desk or aim it out into the room- $20 -

http://www.target.com/5-Head-Floor-Lamp-Blue/dp/B000WUXQAY/sr=1-1/qid=1248209753/ref=sr_1_1/176-9970430-8271245?ie=UTF8&search-alias=tgt-index&frombrowse=0&index=target&rh=k%3A5%20head%20floor%20lamp&page=1

For bedding you would want to go with something with like colors that would match the walls here are 2 differnt styles-

Floral/Casual - $25
http://www.target.com/Home-Floral-Comforter-Aqua-Brown/dp/B001Q8WCBU/qid=1248209900/ref=br_1_1/176-9970430-8271245?ie=UTF8&node=162287011&frombrowse=1&rh=&page=1

Cute/Fun - (out of stock at the momment) - $25
http://www.target.com/Xhilaration-Teal-Dot-BIAB-Full/dp/B0023AHR60/qid=1248210038/ref=br_1_6/176-9970430-8271245?ie=UTF8&node=13160471&search-alias=&frombrowse=1&pricerange=&index=target&field-browse=13160471&rank=salesrank&rh=&page=2

Butterfly Chairs are in, and VERY conferable to sit in, Lime green is the best color to go with, its adds a freshness to the room - $30

http://www.target.com/Butterfly-Chair-Lime-Green-Corduroy/dp/B001TI6CMM/qid=1248210246/ref=br_1_6/176-9970430-8271245?ie=UTF8&node=361358011&frombrowse=1&rh=&page=1

For a wall decor I would go for something that matches your color scheme, nothing that pops to much the bedding takes care of that
-

Blue Bird- $15
http://www.target.com/Butterfly-Chair-Lime-Green-Corduroy/dp/B001TI6CMM/qid=1248210246/ref=br_1_6/176-9970430-8271245?ie=UTF8&node=361358011&frombrowse=1&rh=&page=1

or use could have shelfing as your wall decor, and put your own items on it- $40
I thought this was cute-
http://www.target.com/Espresso-Shelf-Unit-Large-Bins/dp/B00117GO0Q/qid=1248210723/ref=br_1_15/176-9970430-8271245?ie=UTF8&node=366735011&search-alias=&frombrowse=1&pricerange=&index=tgt-mf-mv&field-browse=366735011&rank=salesrank&rh=&page=2

Room Total - $135

Can anyone help me with ideas and advice for decorating a teenage girl's bedroom?

Answer
ooooh that is a BEAUTIFUL color. I have a younger sister who is 12 and her room is a color just like that. I love it a lot :)

Well, Color combinations for that color could really be anything. I would use maybe some lighter colored bedding, Maybe a neon green lamp shade on top of a lamp (check target), Any colored rug to go on the floor. Artwork can be any color that maybe has a blue about that color in it. I think for the ceiling decor you should sponge white and light blue with a hint of the mermaid treasure color and make it look like clouds on the ceiling. :) that would look really cool.

Any colors go with that but I think
-lime/neon green lamp

-light blue and dark blue bedding or stripes with every color including that color

-Pink rug ... have something else in your room be pink such as a chair

-Artwork any colors

-Ceiling decor: Sponge clouds

-Borders...nothing. I think you are good with just that color.

Maybe on one wall put a pink or a green and than try to match everything up to those two colors. :) that would be cool also.

I really hope I help...I tried :) good luck â¥

P.S: I was just thinking...
you could get some white furniture (desks, tables, side tables, nesting tables, dressers etc.) and paint them with the extra "mermaid treasure" color or else put polka dots of the "mermaid treasure" color on top of the white furniture :) that would look really good! :D

is it just a stereotype that french people smell bad?

kids bedroom sets for girls cheap

kids bedroom sets for girls cheap image

brie

i always thought it was, but i've tried to figure it out and everyone's saying that its actually just their culture to shower less and they dont wear a lot of perfumes or deodorant.
just wondering! not trying to be mean!

Answer
OK. The nearest and fairest answer yet is Rudolph's.
Most French people do not smell bad, because even though they may not bathe as often as Americans, despite the fact that they have to be careful about electricity bills, they still wash, and nowadays they shower. Let's face it, the Americans did not bathe that often before they had running water on tap, and in some areas they are not too fussed about personal hygiene either still nowadays. Many French houses are old and had to be adapted to have running water and to install state of the art bathrooms last century.

I was born after WW2 when half the infra-structure in France was still in ruins. I shared a dorm in a convent school and each of the girls had to get a jug of water from one cold tap to wash every evening and replenish it to wash in the morning. When we woke up at 6 am, we had to break the ice in the pitchers in the winter. The nuns inspected us and if we were not clean they scrubbed our necks with a nail brush, so we would not have dared not to wash. We had a hot shower twice a week but we were clean. At home there was just one bathroom for twenty people so we had to take it in turns to have a bath, but there were wash basins in the bedrooms with running water and believe me they were used, and we ran through soap as if there was no tomorrow.
Nowadays every house has at least one bathroom and an increasing number of people have had showers installed in old buildings. Just because one does not have a bath daily does not mean that one is unhygienic.
America is vast and new buildings are all equipped with state of the art sanitary ware. One of my daughters has a bathroom and a walk in wardrobe in each of the bedrooms and her house feels like a mansion compared to the tiny European houses.
With regard to the smell, a lot of garlic is used in French cooking. This has a very pungent smell and Americans are not used to it.
As for soap and perfumes etc... it is proven that the French use an enormous amount of soap , and deodorants are sold in large quantities too. Perfume used to be a way of disguising BO so now that people have hot running water and deodorants they do not use it in large quantities. In any case France is the country where most of the world's quality perfumes are made and a woman will buy an expensive brand and use it sparingly rather than drench herself in a cheap perfume with no lasting power.

I think that many people in America have preconceived ideas, and it has become a game to bash the French amongst school kids who have never set foot in France and appear to be knowledgeable by saying that they are rude, they smell etc...Though I am French, my English is such that people never guess that I not British and there is definitely a difference in the way I am treated when they discover I am not British, a sort of lack of respect which is unjustified. Incidentally when I first arrived in England people had no bathrooms either and in certain areas they bathed once a week in a tin bath in front of the fire. I never heard the Americans saying that the Brits or the Irish were dirty or smelly because they only bathed sparingly.

Need a theme for a preteen girls bedroom.Need something that she will like now and wont be "kiddie" in a few?

Sara Johns

years!. she is 11 and not to picky but her fav color is purple and the room is on the smaller side. But i just want something I can do now and when she is 17 it wont look like shes sleeping in her little sisters room.

Answer
Okay.
If you paint it dark purple, it will look smaller.
If you paint it too light you run into little kid.
That being said....do i medium BRIGHT purple, with a vivid green trim, it will fun now, and can be funky later. I'm not sure on your budget, but paint isnt too expensive, so if she outgrows/changes her favorite color, its not expensive to re do. Also when she's a teen you can make her pay for it herself, or earn the money for it by doing chores, help with your other daughter, yard work etc.
Some cheap add ons that can be removed when she gets older/tastes change are wall decals. Wal Mart Target Lowes and Home Depot all carry them for a pretty cheap price. (Home Depot and Lowes are a little better quality/variety, maybe 2-3 dollars more.) That way it can personalized with out spending too much or skipping them all together and looking generic.
Solid color curtains she cannot out grow. Pick a color that compliments the paint. Dark purple with the bright purple would be really pretty, and regulate the temp of her room (which will save money)
A nice green accent rug, square or round, stay away from items with stuff on them, she'll out grow it or hate it eventually.
Painting her furniture black would "age" the room also. However, white would be fine also.
Now.
Are you doing bedding?
If so, choose a colorful fun blanket/sheet set. Bed in bags are available at many retail stores for not too much money. Choose patterns or geometric prints. Butterflies are always girly but sometimes end up being juvenille.
If she has posters, get some inexpenisve poster frames in silver, it can really pull her room together, and she can change out the pictures/posters as she grows, and take them on to college. Its a great way to have her room look polished. (try Michaels')
Last but not least.
Silk flowers can be used in so many ways and are not expensive at all, you can use them to tie back curtains, decorate walls, borders, desks, chairs, lamps curtains bookshelves. Glue them to the lamp shade to make her old lamp new. When shes over it, pull them off.
Also, fun shaped Christmas lights add something funky and fun to a room without costing too much. Now they can provide comfort visability at night, when shes older they can just be fun.
I don't know, hope I helped.

What's a good color to use for a window scarf?

Dela

My bedroom walls are white(it's an apt so I can't paint them :( and my quilt is green(like sage green) and so are my pillow shams, and window sheer panels, and I want to add a window scarf of a different color in order to bring a little more life to the room so, what color would go with the green I already have on my sheer panels? Oh...I almost forgot to mention that my sheets are ivory, and that I prefer more pastel colors as opposed to dark ones. Any decorators around? or anyone got suggestions? Thanx.

Answer
choose a sheer window scarf with a texture or embroidery on them... it will add interest on your windows... you either can go with the rosy and peachy tones or the blue and lavender tones close to the ones you've got in your quilt which goes well with the sage green and ivory. Since you can't paint your walls invest in wall decor and maybe add a different headboard that will give you the look of cottage or beach house.

scavenger hunt for my boyfriend for valentines day?

Yessenia

I want to make a scavenger hunt for my boyfrined for valentines day, does any one have a riddle.
i want him to start in his house and than to his car, kitchen, his bed, bathroom, couch, backyard and last lead him to me. Please help me i want to make this special for him.

Answer
i'm doing this for my boyfriend! this is how mine goes:
Jaredâs Valentines Day Scavenger Hunt:]
(Sunday February, 14th)
1.) 1st clue on bedroom door when he wakes up. good morning sunshine! Congrats on getting your first clue. To find youâre second clue, you wont have to go far. Think back a few months ago, when we watched out first movie together, in this spot. Itâs at a new location now, but still all the same. Just trust me and do this, itâs like a new game! Now, donât waste time, youâve got places to go, and people to see:]

2.) 2nd clue on downstairs couch. now Iâm sure youâre all sweaty from the long venture from youâre room to youâre couch, so go take a shower and get ready for the day. Donât dilly dally boy, do what I say!

3.) 3rd clue on shower curtain. Now take you shower and get ready. Youâve got to venture now. Take your momâs car (I cleared this with her) and go where we first hung out together. It was a starry night next to theâ¦. .Think, âthe green pieceâ -quote credit: Jake Smith- Hurry boy! But make sure you wear something warm. Iâd suggest some mittens and a hat:]

4.) 4th clue on the bench by Jake Smithâs firepit. Congrats on your venture across the street. :] Now go talk to smithy. He has your next clue. Ah, but if it were only that easy for him to just hand it to you. I canât just spoon-feed you these things you know. So think back to bonfires, jakeâs famous saying whenever smoke got into his face. Heâd get a wee bit pissy. thatâs youâre secret password to get the next clue. Now go boy. Donât keep him waiting!

5.) 5th clue with Jake smith. Ha ha! You remember more than I thought. Though this next clue takes more thinking, but donât get distraught. Think back to the night that we first met. It is at that location where you will find your next clue, but bundle up boy. I donât want your fingers all blue!

6.) 6th clue at football stadium. Boy youâre a smart one. So the next clue might be hard for you to remember. Think back to our first kiss, where was it at? Iâd suggest you start heading back towards youâre house, but not all the way there. If you need a little help, shoot me a text. Iâm willing to share:]

7.) 7th clue at the end of Jaredâs driveway. Man youâre getting good at this! But youâre not done yet. This next one should be no sweat. You love to fish here with Jimmy and Cyle. I met up with you here one rainy day. Itâs behind where my brother spends way too much time⦠but he makes more than just a dime ;] So head out this way, towards this little fall, but if youâre confused, give me a call.

8.) 8th clue at creek behind High Gear. My my, youâre a clever one. Iâm glad you remembered. This next clue has to due with the last. But Iâm sure youâre getting cold, so make it really fast! You took me here one night with jimmy. Though I wasnât much help, it was fun watching you do what you love. This place has a great view by the way. Just try to keep warm, youâll be by the bay.

9.) 9th clue at bay view fishing spot. Dang kid, youâre smart! So to find youâre last clue, it should be easy for you. Way back on November the twelfth, you asked me a very important question here. Now you know you didnât break my heart here, so go on find the last one, and do it with cheer!

10.) 10th clue at break wall. CONGRATS! You found youâre last clue! Now come to your house, Iâll be waiting for you. And no, sorry, you donât get youâre surprise yet. But its something youâll have to wait to get:] Make sure you have all your balloons and pieces with you, weâll solve them together.

All clues are cut out like puzzle pieces, that will fit together to spell out a secret message. And tied to the pieces will be a hear shaped balloon, with letters to spell out âI love you!!â

Good luck!
Hope this helped and gave you some ideas.

Im a 15 year old girly girl & I have to share a room with my little brother who's 8 1/2. My stepmom is letting us redo it. Here's the thing, the room isn't super big, but it's not small. So like medium. I don't want the room to be all kiddish ya know? And he doesn't want girly. So how in hell do we mix an 8 year old boy & 15 year old girl's tastes?? -___- D:

Answer
Emma, by law both you and your brother and you need separate rooms.

But in the mean time, look at living room decor. So look in "Google Images" for "living room wall paper" and "interior wallpaper". A lot of living room decor you will find very neutral if you are trying to mature a childhood bedroom into a teen/adult bedroom and if you have to share a room with another sibling with a child with kid type tastes, and you are trying to find a compromise.

What are modern window treatments for a bedroom that are kid-safe/kid-proof?

Molly R

Answer
No such thing as kid proof, especially with boys. The most durable window treatment are pvc blinds. Not the cheap kind- the really thick and sturdy kind. Have them professionally installed. They can be cleaned with soap and water- just make sure you don't leave the strings hanging, if you have small children. And put up a decorative topper of your choice to go with your decor.

I also recommend if you have a yard, to get sports equiptment to enjoy the outdoors with your friends-thats what i did as a kid. there are all kinds of fun things to do outside (capture the flag was my fave!)

make yoru room comfy for just hanging out and listening to music and/or talking too.

Dave & Busters
940 Great Mall Dr.
Milpitas, CA 95035

This is a fun, family friendly garlic themed restaurant. Big! Lots of differently decorated rooms. We sat in the Vampire Room...very funny! Food was out of this world good. Not too heavy in garlic, but it's definitely got garlic in it, like garlic bread, roasted garlic, garlic vegetables, garlic steak, garlic chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, they even have garlic ice cream. Don't say eeewww!, Garlic ice cream was darn good! You've got to try it!

so for my room, i'm going to decorate it with very eclectic decor. i'm painting the walls this tan color that has kind of a pinkish hue to it. but i thought about having a signature wall on one of the smaller walls in my room. lilke so friends can come over and sign it with markers and i can write quotes and stuff i like on it. if possible, i would like to do it so the writing is somehow erasable. what do you think?

Answer
I don't know if it needs be erasable. You'll just have to keep the paint handy if you find something you don't like. I had a friend whose sister had a bathroom with lots of movie quotes. I liked it personally, if nothing else it adds a sense of personality to your room. I say green light.

Answer
My personal favorite is "Mod" decor for an easy transition. Colors like aqua, any shade of brown, or gray with sleek and streamlined furnishings look great for any age. You can mix it up with fun retro and vintage accents and when its time for your baby add whatever gender of fun circles in blue or pinks. There are some adorable baby crib sets like Stokke, BabyLetto, Oeuf, and Berg that fit perfectly.

Are baby brown recluse spiders on the bedroom wall harmful?

Tina

I see a baby spider crawling on the wall. I'm so scared OMG! The mother brown recluse spider must be in my room somewhere. I need to get rid of the male and female pests before they starting mating and making babies in my bedroom. I just noticed there are spiders in my bedroom every month that I see spiders. I see baby spiders and kill them at least once a month. Sometimes I'd buy bugspray and those spiders just come back reproducing more brown recluses.

Answer
First, brown recluse spiders are 'reclusive'. They are very seldom spotted. Once in a while, during mating season, you may spot an adult male wandering on or at floor level, but no females or spiderlings.(they almost never climb walls)
The recluse is only found in a region of south central US,and if you don't live there, you wont find any recluse. Because of the hyperbole, a great many people report or claim to have seen recluse spiders where they don't even exist. One spider that is often mistaken for the recluse,is as harmless as they come, the male southern house spider:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/32083154@N02/3710691068/in/photostream
Before people run around nuking harmless spiders, they should confirm the identity of the spiders they are spotting.
People that actually live with these spiders get a laugh at all the fuss over these spiders.
Here's a map of where they are found, no red-no recluse.
http://spiders.ucr.edu/images/colorloxmap.gif
and the recluse itself. note the violin pattern. 6 eyes in 3 pairs.

How to decorate the top of a chest of drawers with a tv on it?

rachel

In my bedroom I have a chest of drawers, on it is a tv. I think it looks too plain and I think it needs more to it. How could I decorate it with it still looking good with a tv on it?
Also my room is purple and I am 15 (If this helps)

Answer
You could create a collage of photos of you family and friends and hang it up behind the tv.
Candles in a nice jar or a see through jar with nice colored candles that are bright and vibrant yellow, pink, blue, red, or marble colored. You don't even have to light them just use them for decoration.

Speaking of marbles you could go to the dollar store buy a vase or jar and some different gems it would look really nice next to your tv, pick colors that will match the chest. Place the vases of gems around the tv (make sure they don't fall).

Simple cheap and easy to do. If you do the marbles in a glass idea mix and match marbles in the same jar like have blue and pink in one jar and yellow and orange in the next use your creativity when doing this.
PS Walmart also has some gems but I think the dollar stores are better and they look more pleasing to the eye

Answer
well stay away from Pier 1 and other over-priced decorating stores and stick to places like Target, and Walmart.
If you want some really funky stuff Hot Topic has some bedroom items.
Paint works wonders! If you're allowed to paint your walls pick an accent wall and paint it a bright funky color, like purple! Or get some stencils and paint a cool border.

What kind of toy chest should I buy?

Jellybean

Any recommendations? pictures?

I've looked on Walmart and Target's websites and I don't know whether to get a nice wood toy chest or a little tikes plastic one.

Thanks!

Answer
I agree with New Momma. For a family/entertaining area, a wood chest would look nicer.
My daughter's room had a nice wooden chest that went with her bedroom set. I figured when she outgrew toys, it would be good for storage or maybe a hope chest. It turned out to be great for storing out-of-season clothes, blankets etc.
My son's room had a particle board toy chest. It had sliding doors painted with green chalkboard paint, and went with the Ninja Turtle theme he had in his room at the time. We couldn't really repurpose it when he grew, but it was relatively inexpensive and he loved it.
I'll give you a tip I learned from my son. Small action figures and Hot Wheels will always find their way to the bottom of the toy chest. My son had to take everything out to find them. For Christmas the next year, he asked me for something easier to put small things in to keep them organized. I came across a small 3-tier stacking bin on wheels. It was in bright, primary colors, and he could roll it in and out of his closet to save space in his small room. He could put Hot Wheels in one bin, action figures in another, and Legos in the other. It worked perfectly, and he loved it! So consider some sort of bin system if your child has small toys like these.
Other than that, it's just a matter of preference, and what works with your decor and household. Little Tykes is undeniably durable, and made for kids, so it would work well. Any chest will serve the purpose, just make sure the lid is not too heavy, is hinged in such a way so that it won't slam shut on little fingers or pinch them, and stays open while they are rooting around in there. Your child's toys are likely to outgrow the toy bin, so don't be afraid to repurpose plastic laundry baskets for the excess. They are lightweight, work magnificently, can be easily carried from room-to-room, and shoved into a closet out of sight when not in use.
Hope these suggestions help!

Ok, I live in Oklahoma City and I really can't find any places that sell Mockingjay Pins or Necklaces (Or even Keychains with the symbol), I need help.
I know Hot Topic sells them but they keep getting sold out, and somebody online said walmart sells some stuff but it must only be in their area because I've never seen any. Someone also said B&N (or Borders) was selling keychains, but none there either.
HELP A LIL' SOONER GIRL OUT
I mean stuff like the Necklaces, Pins, and Keychains only (I can get shirts and all that stuff easily), everybody is buying up all that!
And the Online stuff is highway robbery!

Answer
Aside from Hot Topic, the majority of the Hunger Games merchandise is online. All of the officially licensed merchandise like the jewelry, pins, school supplies, and room decor can be found at Amazon at normal prices. You can also find both official and unofficial merchandise on eBay. CafePress has a great selection of customizable shirts, bags, pajamas, etc. Sally Beauty has the nail polish.

How should I decorate my room?

Q. My room is chic lime. http://thecooliecompany.com/LimeCw.jpg

I am 11 and like irish dancing, and I'm not much of a girly girl. My favorite colors are lime green and light blue. I like hanging out with friends and ocasionally playing games with dolls and stuffed animals. I hate makeup and dressy things and pink, but I like Ipods, stuffedanimals. (I love stuffed cats!) I would like somwhere to put my stuffed cats and hang out with my friends. My location is New Orleans and I already have a white desk and 2 lime green dressers. I am looking for a trundel bed/bunk bed but no online sites please.

If you have any ideas about how to paint my white fan I'd love that. :)

Answer
Traditionally, the two places to feature your stuffed animals are on an end table behind your bed, and bookshelves. If you don't have these furniture, see if you can get them in black.

White bedding and curtains works with the green, but to avoid it looking plain, I would suggest getting your favorite patterns on these decors.

If you're not sure of colors with your fan, try using a shadow dance theme with colors. You can then feature it in your room.

Hope this helps!

How can i get my room like Massie Block's?

Chelsea

I have read the graphic novel of the clique. But i have never seen the movie(s) or anything. I have a very small room. But big enough for a full size bed, my Tv, and my desk. Well, those are the biggest things in my room and i have a big closet, But not like a walk-in, Well, I really want my room to look like Massie's. What are some things i can do to do that? I dont have 1000 dollars to spend. Just about 300.
Thanks:)

Answer
Okay well ,
Have you seen The Clique Movie or read The Clique Books, and want a bedroom like Massie Block in The Clique? Well, here's a guide that will help you and make your room just like hers!

Steps

1Start with the walls.
Ads by Google
Kids Wall Decor Wide Range of Kids Room Wall Décor. Shop With Your Kid at Land of Nod!
www.LandofNod.com/WallDecor
In The Clique Movie the Walls in Massie's room are glossy white. Have your walls painted white with a high gloss finish. If you have wallpaper and do not want to repaint, you can just re-wallpaper. There are lots of different types of wallpaper with white patterns that can be pulled off with Massie's style.
As well as white walls in the Clique Movie, there are framed paintings of shoes, handbags and make up in a row. There is a framed picture of a flower pattern. If you do not like framed pictures there are loads of shops that sell Canvases with pictures printed on them.
Also have a pin board, probably white, with pictures of your friends and magazine pictures or just anything that is cute.
2 Furniture should be white. This emphasizes different color walls and goes with all color schemes. You will most likely want to have:
White bed
White bed table
White dresser
White vanity table
White desk
3Give your room some accessories. If you are wanting to make your room like the one in the book, instead of white vases, chooses purple vases or purple flowers. Try to get fake flowers that look real so you don't always have to water them.
4.Make sure your room has light. Try to have a chandelier for lighting or better a chandelier with crystals or diamonds; Massie has ones like this. Try to put white or creme colour lamps on most of your desks If you are wanting to make your room like the one in the book instead of white lamps put purple lamps.
5 Flooring. If you do not have white floors or wooden floors, you can get sheepskin white rugs like how Massie has in her room.
6 Add your own personal touches. Pictures, photographs, lamps, curtains, books, and make it your own! There you go: you have a room like Massie's, and it's all you.

Tips

Stick with one color scheme- like white and purple.
Consider curtains. Try black-and-white spotted ones.
Don't put too much furniture if you have a small room.
Keep it simple and CLEAN to give more effect.
EditWarnings

This may cost a lot of money.
You can create this but it will take a lot of hard work.
You need a big room to create this look.
Dont go overboard

what are some unique ideas to add a little personality to your bedroom?

.

btw,
im 14

Answer
A big fake tree strung with mini lights adds coziness and romance to any room.
But here is a favorite of mine for your walls. Go to an art supply store and buy a canvas or two in the size you need. Like these:
http://www.dickblick.com/categories/canvas/
Then cover them with a fabric that coordinates with your bedding. You can find cheap remnants at a fabric store. Or use decorative paper.
After you cover them, decorate them any way you want....photos, decals, stickers, tassels, feathers, sequins, etc.
http://www.ejoyce.com/
When you're finished, they'll look something like these only with your own personal flair (and alot cheaper!)
http://www.pbteen.com/products/p3542/index.cfm?pkey=cwall%2Daccessories%2Ddecoration
You could also just paint them a solid color and paint a simple design on them or glue a favorite picture to them.

A cool wall hanging can add lots of personality to a room. See if you like any of these:
http://www.turtleislandimports.com/index.cgi/nv=86/r=aw/Bedspreads.htm?gclid=CIv2_KKvrJkCFSPxDAodsBdTJg

Go to a thrift store and buy a simple wooden chair. Then paint it a bright color, hang a cool throw over it or an accent pillow and put it in a corner of your room with some magazines or a pile of books nearby.
http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Kids-Wooden-KidKraft-Avalon-Decor-Red-Wood-Chair_W0QQitemZ150314711956QQcmdZViewItem
If you're artisitic at all, you can use stencils to decorate it with.
http://www.walltowallstencils.com/stencils/miscborders.php
Or just make your own stencil from a piece of cardboard and add polka dots or squares to it.

Decals are a great way to easily add some pizazz to your walls.

What type of visa should i need to apply to get married in UK?

Sam

Hi,

Completed my undergraduate from UK in 2009 and returned back to India. From mid 2009 till 2013 i am staying in India. During my undergraduate period, fall in love with an British girl and at present we have decided to take our relationship further and wanted to get marry. We want to settle in UK and we both are 27years old. I am from India and she is from UK.

So my queries is that
q1] In which visa category i should apply so that i can enter into UK and get married?
q2] What are the documents needed and how much it will cost for an visa?
q3] What are procedure to settle in UK?
q4] Can i apply for an tourist visa and get married and then convert my visa into indefinite visa?
q5] I dont have any job till now and neither any experience, will this will affect in applying for visa?
q6] What is the procedure to get married in UK?
I have searched in the interent but not happy with the information, everyone is giving me different answer?

Please answer step by step.

Thank you,

Answer
Q1. A fiance visa.

Q2. Your fiance will need to provide you with her employment contract and six months of bank statements and payslips. You will need a letter from her employer confirming her employment and salary. For her to sponsor you she must be earning at least £18,600 for at least the past six months.

You will also need evidence that a wedding is planned such as receipts for deposits, confirmation of bookings, etc.

You will need a letter from your fiance confirming her support for your application and outlining your relationship history. You'll also need proof that you have actually met such as air tickets and photos of you together at different times.

Evidence of intervening devotion such as phone bills, email logs etc.

She must provide you with evidence of adequate accommodation with her mortgage statement or rent agreement. If the property where you will live is rented, the landlord must give his written permission for you to live there and the lease must have at least six months to run. You'll also need details of the number and dimensions of the rooms. If shared, you must have at least a bedroom for your own exclusive use at least 50 sq ft.

You will need a TB test certificate and you'll need to take an approved English language test unless you gained a degree from an approved education provider in the UK. If it was a university, you're fine.

The visa lasts for six months and it's extremely hard to get an extension without a very good reason such as one of you were at death's door on the planned day and had to cancel! Time your application accordingly.

Bear in mind that you cannot work on a fiance visa or at any time until your subsequent application for a spouse visa has been approved so this may also affect your timing.

Cost of a fiance visa is £826.

Q3. Procedure for settlement is that once you marry, you apply immediately for a spouse visa. Exactly the same conditions as for the fiance visa except now you include evidence that the marriage has taken place and that it was genuine. Your marriage cert, pictures and bills usually suffice. Sham weddings don't cost a lot. Real ones do!

The spouse visa is issued for 30 months. At the end of this period you will need to apply for further leave to remain for another 30 months. You will need all the same updated documentation as for your first application plus official documentation in joint names showing cohabitation such as joint names on rent/mortgage agreements, joint bank account statements, council tax bills etc.

This time, your income can be taken into account as well or instead of your wife's, if for instance you have started a family and you are now the breadwinner.

At the end of five years, provided your marriage is still subsisting and you have a clean criminal record and financial history (no unpaid taxes, no County Court Judgments), you can apply for indefinite leave to remain. This frees you from immigration time control so as long as you are resident in the UK and don't stay outside the UK for more than two years, you will not need another visa. ILR 'expires' on the same date as your passport but us still valid as long as you carry your old passport with your new one. Alternatively you can apply for a no time limit stamp.

Once you have ILR, as the spouse of a British citizen you can apply for citizenship immediately if you so wish.

Q4. No. You would need a marriage visitor visa to marry in the UK and this will be checked by the registrar. However, this type of visa or the normal visitor visa cannot be extended beyond six months and you cannot change status from within the UK. All visitor visas are conditional on you agreeing to leave the UK before the expiry date.

Q5. No. Only your sponsor's employment and evidence of income is of concern to UKBA.

Q6. The legal side is fairly straightforward although you may also tack on religious ceremonies. You must give notice of your intended wedding, buy a licence, have the banns read out (notification posted for at least three weeks publicly. This is either read out in church or posted at your local registry office). Some mosques, synagogues, temples etc in the UK are authorised to carry out the legalities. Check with your venue. It maybe that you have a separate registry office wedding to deal with the legalities and then carry out your own religious ceremony ad the 'real' wedding.

Where can i get some great bedroom decorating ideas at?

:)Loves

Hey Hey im decorating my bedroom and i cant seem to find online that will give me great tips!
Please help!=)
Thanks-Lovess.

Answer
I've faced the same problem recently, I trailed the internet for hours and didn't find anything either.

In the end I just came up with my own ideas:

I thought I could make some collages by using pictures out of magazines, clothes I like etc. and stick them onto some fancy wrapping paper (you can but individual sheets which are good quality and only cost about 80p!)

I printed off some of my favourite pictures of the computer of friends, and also things I thought were cool like the eiffel tower and the hollywood sign and laminated them. I pinned them up to cover part of one of my walls, and it looked really effective. Also, keep scraps of paper and tickets form concerts to add later, it looks really good when it all builds up! - A pin board might be handy for this - they only cost about £5 if you look around, maybe less!

I also thought of getting some beads and string, and making simple yet creative items: just thread the beads onto the string, as long or short as you want, and dangle them from the ceiling, make a set of door beads, hang them at the window, or even round the mirror; the possibitilities are endless! If you're stuck on how to hang them up, you can buy plastic hooks with a stick side, that come off easily if you ever get sick of them:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SMALL-OVAL-SELF-ADHESIVE-HOOKS-PACK-OF-3_W0QQitemZ300410919143QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Home_Garden_Decorative_Accents_LE?hash=item45f1e2d8e7

Posters are always good, but can look a bit boring by themselves. Buy some ready cut cardboard shapes like harts, stars and flowers from a local craft store or online, or do them yourself if you wanted, and stick them around with blue tack. At first I thought this would look too childish, but I tried it and it didn't, it's cheap too!

Try adding extra little accessories around the room, like a fluffy pillow, or a fun wall clock. Anything that takes your fancy!

Hope this helps!! (:

How do I make my bedroom look more sophisticated?

i'mnotgood

I'm 17, and I have no idea how to decorate my room. I feel like it looks like it belongs to a 13-15 year old girl. And I desperatley want it to look more sophisticated and mature. Sort of like the teenage bedrooms on tumblr, but not the rebellious looking ones with magazine cutouts and posters plastered everywhere.

Help please :)

Answer
There are plenty of options to choose from. But before starting out, you must have a budget in mind and go from there. You don't want to start out on something and end up realizing that for a good effect, you have to end up spending a small fortune. Do you have hobbies or things that you're really keen on like movies, sports, collections or anything like that? That's a good way to start off if you want to have a room that's completely you.

I'll just give you an example here. If you're a collector of sorts who collects stamps, coins, dried flowers etc. you can have display shelves with your collection proudly displayed. You can have wooden furniture to match the room. Solid colored bed linen and accessories will give an intellectual air to the room.

If you like an old-fashioned room, lovely antiques or at least some antique furniture will look beautiful in your room. You can go with lace and tulle and transparent, feminine-looking drapes. A big, oval mirror in a bronze frame will add a touch of charming elegance.

Or if you want to have a typical teen room, bright and cheerful, go with colorful bedding and accessories. This is my personal favorite. Go with a quilt in warm, happy colors. Make the bed the focus of attention with the quilt. Art work for the walls like canvas prints, oil on canvas or acrylic and water color on canvas will create an atmosphere of cozy warmth. Canvas prints of country scenes or flowers or anything that adds to the colorful theme is good. Add some colorful rugs on the floor and throw some pillows on the bed in bright jewel colors.

I was just browsing around and found a website that has some interesting ideas on how to select art work for your walls: http://www.become.com/hub/collectibles-art/paintings-art-sculpture/tips-for-choosing-home-decor-artwork/

Answer
My son has a sports themed bedroom. Go to hobby lobby. Ton of cute stuff there. I also bought off eBay a sports trim that I put around his wall. I painted the nobs on his dresser blue, red and green. I found a soccer lamp at the dollar store for $6, and a sports rug at lowes that is pretty big. I also found a football shaped rug in an ABC catalog. You said no posters, but after I finished his room, I thought it needed a little something more, so I found 2 sports posters at walmart and they really pulled the room together. At hobby lobby I bought a sign that says, " boys only, no pink no girls and no drama" and it has footballs in the background. At hobby lobby I also bought football shelves and put a baseball and glove on it which is cute. Then I had a friend that made me a few canvases that I hung on the wall saying different sports quotes. He also has pillows in the shape of basketball and baseball on his bed, and has a hamper I filled with plush footballs, soccer balls and baseballs. I also found a baseball night light at the dollar tree, and baseball and football wall stickers I stuck on his closet :)

boys bedroom decorating ideas on a budget image

PureAmbiti

I'm about to get my very own apartment in January. I've been on my own before and all. But i lived in places that were already furnished. And also I have a 1 year old now. I'm Lowkey excited. And I want to go all out even though I'm on a budget I am going to buy things little by little. So I was wondering how do I go about doing so. Like how do you choose your colors, wall decor or rugs and furniture. I'm going for a modern look for majority and my son will have a child theme or colorful big boy room and stuff I've gotten that figured out. But I'm thinking of the rest of the house. I honestly don't know where to start. I have so many ideas and stuff. Any tips on helping me decide easier? Places to shop? Also where can I get nice modern reasonable bedroom and living room items (dressers, coffee tables etc mattresses and stuff aren't a problem)

Answer
I would keep the decorating minimal, and child friendly (ie, items that are easy to clean and not breakable/dangerous). As suggested, places like Ross and tjmaxx are great for inexpensive, but nice decor. I also like target. It helps a lot to look at decorating websites like hgtv and martha stewart to get an idea of what kind of style and colors you like and ideas on good decorating schemes. YouTube also has a lot of decorating videos. Before you shop, have an idea of what items you'd like to have. Make a "wish list" and keep it in your purse, marking off items as you find them (which probably won't happen in a day). And keep in mind, your little one will be walking soon (if he isn't already) so anything he can reach shouldn't be breakable, have sharp points, small parts ect...

Ideas on how to turn a basement into a little place for kids?

supermommy

I was thinking on creating different spaces for them. A kitchen/dining room, living room, office, and possibly a bedroom area. I was thinking of dividing the "rooms" with king size sheets, hung in a neat manner. Our basement isn't finished or anything (drywall/paint, etc) but is in good enough shape to have a little fun with it. I don't know if I am allowed to paint or put anything on the floor (except carpet...not tacked down) And ideas, thoughts, tips? It doesn't have to be perfect....my little ones are just happy to have a place to play. Budget is small~creativity is limitless. THANKS!

Answer
A table or old desk for a craft area. Then hang baskets or an old shoe organizer to put craft materials in:glue, paint, brushes, crayons, markers, scissors, glitter, stickers, etc.

Old file cabinet painted a funky color to hold materails like paper and finished projects. you can also hang a clothes line for them to clip paintings on to dry and to display finished works of art!

Maybe in one area, you could put a bunch of thick blankets and floor pillows down for a cozy pallet/nest to nap on.

Not sure how old your kids are or if they are boys/girls, but you could have an area with books, and puzzles, another make believe area with dress up stuff and "props" (umbrella, old high heels, old halloween wigs, feather boa, purses)... I loved to play "kitchen" when I was littel. If they have a play kitchen then when you run out of food, save the boxes/jars/containers for them to play "kitchen" with. Any old plastic dishes you don't use anymore... or if they don't have a kitchen, 2 chairs and table will work! A big box or set of shelves can hold the "food".

Lots of mirrors since I doubt the basement has many windows...Let the kids create the art and frame it in an old frame and decorate with those! You can even create with them and hang your work on the wall too!

Beach Babe

Ok, so i'm moving and have a new room. I want my room to be like a beach type theme. So any links/pictures would be great.
Next I have a walk-in closet (not connected to my room) I know I want a pink/zebra stripes/princess look for my closet, again any links/pictures would be great!
Third, my bathroom...I think i would like a paris theme for that but feel free to put any ideas up!
And last I also may have a living room/hang out room. What would you do (if you were a teen or already are) for a hang out room. (colors, designs, things to hang up, etc.) Thanks for all the help!!!!

Answer
BEDROOM ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For a beach-themed room, paint the walls blue and have white or oak trim. Have a white ceiling (makes the room look bigger and brighter) and tan or beige floors (like sand). Hang fish nets, lighthouses, and other beach pictures on the walls. You can find decorative sea shells and other beach items at craft stores and some furniture stores. If you want, you can get an image wallpaper of a sunset or the ocean. Other ideas are to hang a hammock in your room, set up a tiki bar, get decorative surf boards, etc. Put up a boarder that is beachy. If it were my room, I would have a brigth pink comforter and a pink hibiscus flower boarder because I like the beach and I like pink.

Here are some sample rooms for you:

CLOSET ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Paint the inside of your closet pink and get a stencil to paint zebra stripes on the back wall. Have white trim and a white ceiling to get that princess look and to keep the closet big and bright. You can also buy pink hangers for your clothes (I have them). If there is an outlet in the closet, you can line the ceiling with pink Christmas lights. You could also put down a pink zebra rug.

Here are some pink closets. I'm not sure that they are what you're looking for, but they may help you think of good ideas.

BATHROOM ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Paint the walls blue and then stencil in a black silouette of the Eiffle tower. Also paint some stars. A Paris-at-night scene would be really awesome. If you google "Eiffle tower bathroom accessories" you should be able to find some neat stuff for your bathroom.

LIVING ROOM ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Make sure you have a TV and plenty of room to lounge (lots of chairs). Make the room welcoming and fun, but now tacky (ie: neon paint). I'm sure you'll think of something cool to do here.
