Moroccan Bedroom Theme?

Cara

What are some things I could do with my bedroom if I'm decorating it in a Moroccan style? I'm 17 but I want it to be mature enough to last for 4 or 5 years. I want mostly deep reds, purples, and golds but also lots of other vibrant colors. I want it to be deep and sensual and I'm going to use lots of candles and fabrics. Any suggestions on color combinations, decor, or anything else? Thanks!

Answer
vibrant red, orange, and deep purples are your best bet.
if you want to go full out moroccan, try painting a wall or two orange, and finding accessories such as lampshades and a bedspread that have both red and purple, with hints of orange. but also be sure to throw some white in there, keep at least one wall white, such as a wall that has a window, therefore you could put vibrant red moroccan themed curtains on it.

Where can I find an orange and gold comforter set?

ILovePizza

I would like to decorate my bedroom in orange and gold decor. But, I am having trouble finding bedding. I've search many stores (Target, Bed,Bath & Beyond, etc.). Please help!

Answer
You could use the orange side of this and have a tailor sow on some gold ribbon:

When I move I wanna decorate my own room. What are all the things I need to buy?

Answer
first of all, it depends on your personality. if you are the spunky creative type then decopauge is the right choice for you:
http://familycrafts.about.com/cs/decoupage/a/012201a.htm
you could also put like a large glass thing (the size of your desk or vanity, depending on wear you wanna put this) and put pictures of you and your friends under it.
if you love collecting perfumes and sprays then take a cute tray and place them on there.
ask your parents if they have any old records and you could hang those on your wall (thats what im doing)
if your bed is really plain or boring, buy a colorful new one or just add a bunch of cute and decorative pillows to place on top.

for a kids room, all walls bright orange? or just one? Will it make the room look.. too much with all walls?

=)

I'm making a 13 year olds room bright orange. She has a huge room, bigger than most children's. Its a very bright, deep, orange. I don't know if I should paint the whole thing orange, or if that will look too much. If I only paint one wall orange, what should I do with the other walls? Just leave them white?

(she likes bright colors)

Answer
I would suggest either just ONE wall or pnly part of the walls painted Orange.
I am an interior designer and I know from experience that bright colors in a bedroom make it hard for people to relax and fall asleep. Here's an idea or two....
Either just do one wall the bright orange and the other walls some other color that blends well with you r bright color, but is not bright. Maybe a pariwinkle or light blue or a light lime green. Any light yellows or off-whites will also blend well, and will calm down the stimulating brightness of the orange wall.
OR you could measure and tape a horizontal line or even a wavy line on each wall and only paint the bright orange on the bottom half of that line. You can pick a calmer color for the top, or even just a lighter more peachy orange for the top color. This will be a bold statement with out being too straining on ones eyes.
Have fun deciding!

New bedroom advice!!!!!?

K

basicly the house i live in with my family is getting extended and after that is done i will have my own room instead of sharing a room with my sister. Im 15 and i am a bit of a colourful person so i have a few ideas of what i would like but not sure how they will look....

1. The walls painted white with really random paintbrush splashes over the white, white wooden furniture, and my fave colour (fushia pink) duvet cover and pillow cover.
2. The walls painted blue, orange, purple and green, white furniture and just a plain white bed and pillow cover.
3. The walls white but the main wall painted a neon colour, but the white walls will have framed photo collages and just random wall decorations, white furniture and the duvet and pillow cover to different neon colour.

I do have more ideas but these were the ones i couldnt decide between...... so please can you say which one you like the best or give me an idea that you think will look good.

Btw the furniture has to be white.

thanks.

Answer
1. The random paint splashes sounds cute, but it will look too busy if you do it on all the walls. If you go for just one accent wall with paint splashes it will look much better. I love the idea of white and fuschia!
2. I just don't like this one. All 4 walls in different colors is too much for me. My little sister had a room like this as a kid and it looked like a disaster.
3. This one is my favorite idea! I like everything about this idea!

Here are some great neon-inspired room pictures I found that could give you some ideas.

I love the neon lights!

Help with decorating kids room!?!?

anngeez200

I have a new stepdaughter, age 11, as well as my 2 daughters who are 8 and 11. I recently got married and along with these 3 girls, I also have a stepson. Problem? We have a 3 bedroom home...so my stepson gets his own room, because hes 13...and of course, my hubby and I get our room...that leaves the girls to share a room. Its not a big ordeal because the room is hugh and the 3 beds fit fine. My girls are with us every other week for a week, but his daughter is always with us...her moms not in the picture. My problem is, decorating ideas. I need a theme idea and cheap ideas...like do it yourself things. Any suggestions? I cant really ask them, because they all want something different...NOT POSSIBLE! Please help before I pull my hair out!

Answer
Since the girls are getting older, stick to colors rather than a theme. Themes get old fast and they will grow out of it before you know it. They are almost preteens.

Here are some pictures to get you started:
http://www.dominomag.com/galleries/rooms/bedroom/kidsbeds?slide=2
http://www.dominomag.com/galleries/rooms/bedroom/kidsbeds?slide=3
http://www.dominomag.com/galleries/rooms/bedroom/kidsbeds?slide=4
http://www.dominomag.com/galleries/rooms/bedroom/kidsbeds?slide=5
http://www.dominomag.com/galleries/rooms/bedroom/kidsbeds?slide=11

You want to create something girly, but something they wont grow out of. I love the first picture. A set of bunk bed would be great for your situation. The extra bed would be great for sleepovers and such and you would save on floor space by doing two bunk bed rather than 3 regular beds. I also love the black and white portrait of the sisters in the first picture (it would be a great bonding experience to take all your children out in the yard to take some great black and whites like that and then blow it up as a surprise addition to their new room).

Soft pink paired with a bright poppy red is very playful but also more sophisticated than pink and purple.

Hope this helped a little.
Good luck!

Vintage Girl Bedroom?

bruyre

I am looking for a bedding that is vintage and artsy like this:
http://weheartit.com/entry/5320645
or this:
http://weheartit.com/entry/5310812

but I can't find any like them. Sites or links would be great. also if you know how I could go about setting up my room like this:
http://weheartit.com/entry/3477172
like where to get the sheets over the bed and the string of lanterns that size. Also any other design tip you would think look good in the room. Thanks!

Answer
Try Anthropology's home store (though it does tend to be a little expensive)
http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/catalog/category.jsp?navAction=jump&navCount=0&id=HOME
if you want something a little less expensive, try Urban Outfitters apartment section
http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/category.jsp?popId=&navAction=poppushpush&isSortBy=true&navCount=27&pushId=APARTMENT&id=A_DECORATE

Both of these places have bedding, decor, and furniture that achieves that bohemian/indie/vintage look you are going for.
follow this link for the lanterns:
http://www.japanesestyle.com/catalog/partywedding/bulk-paper-lanterns
regarding the canopy style thing-- just take 2 or 3 pieces of light (not heavy) fabric of your choice that each piece should be twice the length of your bed. you can either put thumbtacks over the 4 corners of your bed on your ceiling or nail in the fabric in whatever drape-ish fashion you like.
regarding the decor: hit the second hand shops and vintage stores, they will have cool but cheap artsy papers and art that you can hang on your walls. Also, find some photography that you like and pin it all over your walls (magazine clippings will do)
also, find a pretty tapestry (they sell them at urban outfitters or vintage stores) that you like and hang it on the wall, use it as rug, or a blanket.
last but not least: dont be matchy matchy! vintage bohemian style is all about different colors and patterns coming together to create one artsy and pretty room. dont be afraid to take risks!

Is it possible for a family of 5 to live on there own off of $12.00 an hr pay?

BabyGirl

I now realistically no. But I wonder if other people do it? I live in Texas. I just can't live with my mom anymore. She's driving me nuts. I don't even know how where going to save money. And we actually just moved into a house with a 4 year lease less then 3 weeks ago. The plan was for my husband and I to get on our feet and she said she is willing to move out because she knows I love this place and it is a great neighborhood to raise the kids. But no I'm tired of her always butting in and when the kids call mom (me) she will try to answer. I don't know what to do with her I think its time to bounce which is something my husband should have done a long time ago but...that is another story. He goes on his drinking binges and he is untrust worthy when it comes to his paychecks. He does this like every six months. Which is why we never have money. His check (when in full in my hands) is done within 3 to 4 days. I try to budget and I pay bills and buy food and bam! Its gone.
A large part of me does want to kick him to the curb. But I financially depend on him so much. He is a major spending leak. I just know I can't wait until I finish school. I know I can make it once I get my AA but thats until Dec. which seems so far away. Only cause I want it now! But yeah I'm in a real mess...
HEB store is a thef because he does work 40 each week but he has to get a 100% or higher so he has to clock out and when he clocks out he doesn't get paid for it. >:\ So he gets about 70 maybe more every two weeks. I know the next pay check is going to be smaller ugh! I don't know what to do. I want to work but I can handle the pressure of 3 kids, full time school (online) and work. I can't quit school because I wont get anywhere in life.
Lisa Marie where do you live?

Answer
Here's what you do....

Stay with mom for a few months and save, save, save. Save a minimum of $1000 each month for 6 months. In my area you can buy a mobile home w/ 3 bedrooms for $6000. It's most likely that the mobile home will be on a rented lot but that's okay. Most rented lots include water, sewer and trash. That's a plus. Stay in the mobile home for the next 4 years. Here is a monthly budget for you to follow....

Lot rent- $300
power- $150
phone (land line)-$60
cell-$40
car insurance-$100
fuel-$120
food-$460
household supplies-$40
savings-$300

Get rid of any car payments you have and save to purchase a car with cash. You can also get rid of the line line phone and get cable/internet instead. Don't let a month go without putting money into savings. This savings will be used for emergencies ONLY! After 4 years of saving $300 you will have $14,400. That will be your down payment for a new home. Give your husband $10 each week for his drinking. Open the accounts in your name only. Have him sign his check over to you and give him cash for gas to get to work. Tell him it's your way or the highway. Your family won't survive if you allow him access to the money. Check this site www.hillbillyhousewife.com. She has a menu that will feed a family of 4-6 for only $40 a week. Also look into Angel Food Ministries. You can purchase large amounts of food for very little.

Good luck!

Edit: I have a friend who lives in Houston. She bought a trailer home for $2000. It was a 1970's w/ 2 bd and needed some work. You'll have to drive around to find deals like that. Most ppl who are selling cheap don't run ads in the paper or go through a realtor.
Edit 2: You'll also need to keep a very tight budget for clothing, furniture and the like. Use www.freecycle.org to find things for free. Yard sales and thrift stores are good choices. Look on craigslist.org for mobile homes. Lots of good deals show up there. It's going to take some time to move your family from the trailer. When you do save the $14,000 for your down payment don't sell the trailer. Rent it out and use that rent money to save for a second down payment for an even better home. Continue doing this until you become a full time landlord with a large monthly income from your rental property.

It's not the house that makes it a home, it's the people inside.

I have a very small house and my 3 kids are stuck in one bedroom, I hate bedtime?

kramer24_2

I am in the process of re-doing my house. I have a very small house but it is all I can afford, my 3 children ages 8-6-4 are all stuck in one bedroom they refuse to go to sleep. I am tired of the big arguement that comes up every night at bed time. I know it is hard right now, but they do not go to sleep sometime 'till after midnight. It is aggrevating. Any suggestions and what do I do??- fed up mom

Answer
Our house is not small, but we have outgrown it...just not enough storage. We have four bedrooms, one of which has turned into the catch all for filing cabinet, computer, movies, christmas stuff. I have four children three boys and one girl. We have a bunk trendle bed for them...so there is the bunk bed then there is the trendle bed underneith that is pulled out. Then there is me and my husband, so I know the situation. What excuses do your children have? Are they scared? Are they playing...thirsty...bathroom.... I myself go through and get rid of all the excuses first, and set the rules second. Once the excuses are out of the way. Start bed time earlier if you have to. First the water, then bathroom time, then we spray the room with some glade (for the monsters to stay away of course), hugs and kisses... then tuck them into bed. I send them to bed an hour or two before me so that I know they are asleep when I am ready for bed. In doing this I set the routine and it is something that I can keep up with. You have to commit to making it work however you decide to do it. No empty threats...they need to see the follow through. My problem with seperate bed times is that they all want to fight about what is fair, and you have to go thru the argument not once, but possibly three times when you say it is bedtime. The older one wants a later bed time, but has to get up earlier for school. The youngest one does get to take a nap and doesn't have school. The other thing is one going in and waking the other up. You might start with laying down with them so they get it that bedtime means bedtime you can put a chair beside the bed and sit until they fall asleep...slowly move the chair to the door way, and so forth. You might have to supervise till they fall asleep but once they get used to it...it usually happens a little faster because they realize you are not walking away. You can send them to bed at the same time, but different areas of the house as well put the oldest on the couch, middle in his/her bed, and the youngest in your bed till they fall asleep. Once sleepiness has set in (been asleep for about half an hour) you can then move them to where they need to go. Another thing I have done is however late they get to bed is (such as two hours) is how much earlier their bed time is (meaning they go to bed two hours earlier the next day) They get tired of loosing their play time. If all that fails all children are scared of the dark and being alone...esspecially if they are used to sleeping with others...use it to your advantage and tell them they have left you with no choice, but there are now consequences of sleeping by themselves in such and such room in the dark if they do not get to bed and get to sleep. I would start with the eight year old...he can handle it better than the youngest...but if the younger ones see that the older one is scared than they are not going to test you so much. The darkest room in my house is the bathroom (I've used the hall as well as a nice cold kitchen floor)...if I catch one talking I tell them to grab their pillow and blanket and head to the ?...at first they thought I was joking...but even my twelve year old cries like there is no tomorrow after ten to fifteen minutes (which can seem like an eternity to a child) open the door and ask them where they would prefer to sleep (usually it is always in their bed)...set the rules that you are comfortable with fine go to bed and get to sleep, and no talking or you are in the ? for the rest of the night be prepared to keep them where you put them till they at least fall asleep should they be disruptive again (and should also be a place you can supervise). Once they have fallen asleep you can always wake them and send them to their bed. Well these are just some suggestions...hope you can find one to help...good luck.

I want my bedroom to look more mature and less little kid. What r some things i can do on a small budget??

I am 14 years old and my room has a single bed. It has recently been painted with the walls cream. I have a large mirrored woodrobe. The wall wear my bed is, is a brick wall and i am considering painting the bricks or rendering it. I also have a large window which looks out to a pool.

Answer
Maybe have a nice lounge next to the window with a reading lamp (really tall ones that set on the floor). You can pick up single lounges really cheap from opshops...

A peice of art either on a hall table (again- cheap from opshop) or a framed painting on a wall.

Some single colour curtains will help to finnish your room, as will a nice clear floor.

Ultimately keep your room uncluttered.

Master bedroom decor ideas?

starrygirl

We just moved into a house, and though it was affordable and most of the rooms easy to decorate, the master bedroom has been a challenge. The walls are a medium dark wood paneling. All of the decorations I have from our old house are red, black and white...which clash badly with the brown walls. You can't paint the walls, so I'm going to have to work around them, and use brighter colors to keep the room from being so drab. The style in the rest of my house is Bohemian and Cottage. Any ideas would be great.

Answer
brown and robins egg blue as well as turquoise go well together. Since it seems like a dark room and you like the cottage look, stick with Robins Egg Blue Tan, and Cream, it will brighten it up.

Where wll i find a Home Designing game where i can actually arrange furnitures (that are 3 dimentional)?

sheng

I want a FREE Online Home Designing Game that's 3D where i can actually arrange furnitures according to my style not just changing the the color of the walls, ceillings and floors, etc... I'm through with the "online room designing games for girls". I want the more advanced! Please tell me the website of it! Thank you!

Answer
Why use a game when you can use the same tool that Interior Designers actually use to create floor plans for their customers? Go to http://www.stickleyaudi.com and click on the Room Planner link at the top of the page. That will open a new page that has instructions and videos on using the floor planning tool. You can look through actual furniture styles to put in your floor plan. When you're done, you can email it to your friends and family. It's really easy and a lot of fun. Enjoy!

Anniversary celebration. How can u make it perfect?

IVChordaru

It's our third year together, and we finally got some space to do something special (a whole weekend to be exact). We've been really busy between work and college these last years and I wanna have a good time, relax and show her how much I care about her and love her.
What would you do? where would you go?

Thanks

Answer
What does she like? How much can you spend? How far can you travel?

Some of our most memorable anniversaries included:

* An overnight stay at a bed-and-breakfast with a really GREAT restaurant. Actually, we've done this three or four times, with different B&Bs: twice on the California coast, once at the Oregon coast and once along the Columbia River. Find a place with great scenery, lovely furnishings, a terrific restaurant, and beds that don't creak or collapse. (That was the WORST anniversary...)

* A dinner cruise on the river at sunset. For our 25th, we booked dinner on a cruise boat on the Willamette River (in Portland, OR). The cruise takes about three hours, and brings you back to downtown Portland right as the sun is setting (at least for late-June anniversaries). We took the whole day off, sent the kids to friends, went downtown to our favorite Greek restaurant for lunch (when we were first married, in Chicago, our favorite hangout was a Greek place on N. Halsted), then spent three hours in Powell's City of Books, with no kids to ask us when we were leaving. Yeah, we're nerds. :-) The dinner cruise was the icing on the cake, with live music on the ship and fantastic food and wine.

* An all-day trip to Disneyland. I should have sprung for the works and taken out a motel room for the night, but we only lived about an hour away at the time. We, um, did get very naughty in a dressing room in Frontierland...

* A "dinner with the winemaker." This year we were invited by the wine club we belong to, to a special winemaker's dinner that happened to fall a few days before our anniversary, at our favorite winery and catered by the chef of a top local restaurant. It was lovely, with great food and fabulous winem all served in their tasting room, a 1905 farmhouse said to be haunted. And at the end of the evening, they shook our hands and thanked us for joining them... and didn't give us a bill.

* A national sports-car club convention at a lovely motel right on the coast in Santa Barbara, California. We had a second-floor suite overlooking the ocean; if we'd fallen off the balcony we would have landed in the sand, and this was one of the few stretches of the southern California coast where the sun sets into the ocean, and not into the hills. Sunsets were awesome.

* A classic car show up in the Sierra foothills, with a rally on Saturday and the show itself on Sunday (and a stay at the Chico Holiday Inn in the middle). A friend had been asking me for several years to come up to his show in the small town of Paradise, California, just outside Chico, and one year the show actually fell on our anniversary. So I sidled up to my wife, put my arm around her waist, and said, "Hey, honey, how'd you like me to take you to Paradise for our anniversary?" She looked at me under one raised eyebrow and said, "This is some kinda car thing, isn't it?" It was... but we had a great time. Late June, the girls were 5 and 8, they loved the swimming pool and we loved the door between our adjoining rooms.

* A charming little hotel, all made up of detached cabins/suites, in an equally charming Danish community in the central California coast. We put the kids in the sitting room (three kids, three fold-out beds) and took the master bedroom for ourselves. Our bedroom opened onto a private outdoor hot tub, with a 10-foot fence around it, and in the morning we could climb out of bed and into the hot tub without all this nonsense about bathing suits. During the day we walked around town, toured the countryside, hiked up to a waterfall, looked in all the neat shops, and had a great time with the whole family.

Things NOT to do:

* Stay in a room with a king-size bed on a frame made of crummy MDF that will creak and, eventually, collapse under you.

* Stay in a room with a jet tub in the bedroom, because if you sit over the jets just right they will spray your bed and you will be damp and clammy all night. (Same B&B, come to think of it...)

* Have such a big dinner that when you get home, you both lie in bed moaning about how your stomach hurts from eating too much.

* Believe your spouse when you hear "Oh, it doesn't have to be anything special, let's just be casual this year."

* Forget the champagne. Well, maybe it's something different for you, but for us, it's not an anniversary without champagne. Lots of it, spread out over the entire day and/or weekend.

In retrospect, I'd have to say that my favorite anniversaries have been the ones where we stayed overnight, choosing somewhere special in its own right, and in an area that had a good balance between romantic activity and other things to do -- sightseeing, shopping, visiting wineries, and the like. As you can probably tell, I have an interest in cars, which means like going to places that have scenic, twisty roads so I can put the top down and enjoy getting there; we both like to eat well and to enjoy wine, which is why we like to stay at a place with a good restaurant attached, if possible -- I love wine and I love my cars, but I don't love them both at the same time.

So this is kind of a ramble... and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Do you think we should expend more effort to prevent crime, or make tougher sentences for those who do commit?

ken

Do you think we should expend more effort to prevent crime, or make tougher sentences for those who do commit crimes? What efforts could be made? What kinds of sentencing might make a difference?

Answer
I think we attack the position of crime at the wrong end of the equation.

Adults are pretty much set in their ways and a death sentence prevents them from ever killing again.

Considering the lengthy appeals and countless stays the cost to give a person a dirt nap is cheaper to keep alive in prison forever. Which begs the question why keep him alive if he is never going to get out.

Now back to my original point. We are raising demons with no respect for the law or anyone else.
Need an example a mother the other day in a bookstore was talking calmly to her screaming demon saying "no dear be quite or you will be put in a time out" the demon's response " I HATE YOU B**** I WISH YOU WERE DEAD!"

If I said that to my mother I won't be hear today because my dad would have sent me to the promise land already. In my neighborhood where I grew up if a parent got unto us and said they were going to call my dad. I would throw myself at the mercy of that parent.
My dad didn't beat me but we knew what the rules were and what happen if they were broken.

Today a kid can build bombs in their bedroom and when the father ask are those bombs and the kid says no. To which the father says OK.

Parents need to be parents not the kids buddy.

In short what is lacking is discipline.
Respect of the rule of law. Each time I hear about a shooting in South side of Chicago each and everytime there is the people saying with out doubt the cops shouldn't have shot the kid.

Even when some kid try to carjack an off duty policemen who sent them to the promise land.

The coward was upset the police defended himself.

So death penalty makes for a good debate but a better debate would be why can't parents be held accountable for how they raise their children.

Bedroom decor ideas?!?

shelbie

So I want to re do my bedroom but there is a problem. I am almost 18 and I share a room with my 13 year old sister. We cant agree on anything! I want a more sophisticated room and she wants a young teen room. How can I incorporate what we both like to make a room that we would both love? She loves bright neon colors and I like calmer colors. She is a justin bieber freak and has posters of him everywhere! I dont like posters (i dont mind framed pictures i just dont like posters).
The comforter that im getting for christmas is this one: http://www.target.com/Home-8-pc-Bed-Set-Flocked/dp/B002OC742O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&searchView=list&keywords=home%208pc%20flocked%20floral%20brown%2Fblue&fromGsearch=true&sr=1-1&qid=1292473845&rh=&searchRank=target104545&id=Home%208-pc%20Bed%20Set%20Flocked&node=1038576%7C1287991011&searchSize=30&searchPage=1&searchNodeID=1038576%7C1287991011&searchBinNameList=subjectbin%2Cprice%2Ctarget_com_primary_color-bin%2Ctarget_com_size-bin%2Ctarget_com_brand-bin&frombrowse=0
And I dont know which one she should get (any ideas?)

Please give me ideas. Thank you!

Answer
Shelbie,
If you're looking at the set that is black/white, it won't fly with your sister.
If it's the blue/grey embroidered set, good choice! It's lovely!(I hope this is THE ONE you're getting

Now you have to get sneaky.

Take your sis for lunch & a manicure. Let her know that you realize that she's growing up and becoming a lovely young woman. Her body is changing, boys will soon be appearing on the front porch, and her tastes in "heroes" will change, too. (You and I know that Justin is never going to call her.) Let her know that the 7th & 8th grades at school will be a very important time of her life, and getting on the "A" list of popularity will require some sophistication in her mannerisms, her attire, her hairstyles & make-up. And of course, in her personal environment. When she brings girl friends home, the cutesy pink & lime green are going to seem very babyish to her friends.
Your shared room needs to reflect her maturity and good taste to run with the "In Crowd"
Rent the Audrey Hepburn movie "My Fair Lady,". Watch it with little sis. Then visit www.allposters.com for the poster of Ms Hepburn from that movie It's in black& white where she is wearing the stunning dress and hat at the horse races. Promise to buy it for her ONLY after she removes the posters of Justin from the walls!
Maybe matching bedding would encourage her, maybe not, or take her to Target and hekp her find a more suitable set for herself that will coordinate with yours.
(You can catch more flies with honey than you can with vinegar.

You want to create something girly, but something they wont grow out of. I love the first picture. A set of bunk bed would be great for your situation. The extra bed would be great for sleepovers and such and you would save on floor space by doing two bunk bed rather than 3 regular beds. I also love the black and white portrait of the sisters in the first picture (it would be a great bonding experience to take all your children out in the yard to take some great black and whites like that and then blow it up as a surprise addition to their new room).

Soft pink paired with a bright poppy red is very playful but also more sophisticated than pink and purple.

Hope this helped a little.
Good luck!

What are some cool bedroom theme ideas?

take it ea

For a 13 year old girl. Please nothing childish and no skulls. Right now my room just has a bunch of random magazine advertisements all over the place. Something that will go with soft pink curtains. I have to keep those and my bed frame which is white. Please give me some cool ideas, no Hannah Montana or Jonas Brothers, I will only be living here for about another 5 years until I hopefully go to college. I want something nice but not too bright and flashy. Thanks :)
Yeah I didn't exactly mean a theme like a forest or anything lol, just like good colors together and good decorations.

Answer
Here are some ideas and color schemes:

French Theme: Pink curtains, White bed frame, Dark Fuchsia Stripes on the wall, and Ivory-colored furniture.

Retro-ish: Pink curtains, White bed frame, multi-colored lamps, hanging lights (the kind you put outside of your home around Christmas) Mirrors in different shapes, etc.

Nature: Olive green walls, blue/burgundy/white stripes along the wall, dark cherry cabinets and dressers, and cork board for your magazine ads.

Modern: White and Black color palette. Cushioned stools, and plastic spinning chairs. Pale colored pillows and rugs. Maybe some fake trees made out of wire, or use real bamboo plants.

Hope I gave you some inspiration ~ good luck.

Im looking for a small chic chair and a very small glass end table
my color palet is black pink and zebra

Answer
Thats my daughters exact decor. I went to Target and they have the cutest mirrored end table for 50 bucks and I got a chic gold painted rod iron chair at a store called DD's deals in California, but it is a lot like Ross and Marshalls if you dont live where I live. Cause I have never heard of DD's till I moved to my area. But if you have a Ross or Marshalls type store in your area, they seem to have a lot of stuff for room decor to choose from. I even got my daughter zebra print satin sheets at a Ross the other day. Hope this helps. I wish I cold post pics.

thank you all! so glad that it all matches! i really loved the set at walmart and had such a hard time finding a set for younger daughter. i wanted the same color scheme and flowers, but without using the same bedding on both!

Answer
I like the first one the best, but I almost think you might want to avoid a wallpaper border? In just a few years your oldest will be "tween" age and will probably want to redecorate again! If you forget about the border and use really cute widow curtains, framed prints and/or a cute little bulletin board/ chalk board, then when your girls want an "older" looking room you can just switch those things out and get new bedding! No repainting/ wallpaper removal necessary!

If you do want to stick with the border, though, I think the first one is really cute and would go well with both bed sets. Good luck!

Bedroom Makeover Help?

Jewels

I am re-doing my bedroom into a black, white, and red music themed room. I have a black futon for my bed and I am looking for any decor to use in there. I already have accent pillows that are white with black music notes.

If you can find any music related decor please post the link. Thanks!

Oh and I need to re-paint my walls. What color goes well with black white and red?
