Do you know of any sites where you can "virtually" decorate a kids bedroom?

Sassy Pant

I am trying to come up with ideas for my little girls bedroom but I want to be able to see what it might look like first before I buy everything.

Answer
I couldn't find any free sites - they do have software out there to buy - but I did find these ten tips -

Hope this helps just a little bit:

10 Tips For Decorating Kids Bedrooms
by Lee Dobbins
There comes a time when your child is no longer a baby that the nursery room decor simply wonât do. Your child needs a place that he can call his own and which reflects his or her emerging personality.

Kids rooms should be fun as well as comforting and relaxing. When you set out to decorate your childs room, ask them what they like and incorporate some of their favorite themes and colors into the room. At the same time, it might be wise to keep an eye on the future and know that their tastes will change and if you make your decor flexible enough the room can last into your childs teens.

Here are some tips on decorating kids bedrooms:

Use colorful curtains and accents. Show your child some curtain selections and ask them what they would like to see no the windows. Try to stick to bright colored window treatments as these will help the room to look sharper and cleaner.
Adding a valance can help define the opening of the window and lessen bright overhead light from coming in at the top of the windows. It also opens up the window so the room can be lit evenly during the day. Add a colorful or themed shade for privacy at night.

Consider using your childs toys as wall decor. This can serve two purposes - as decoration and to save on storage space. You can create hooks to hang larger toys and add shelves to display the smaller ones. Now if you can only get your kids to put them away!

You can always add paintings and prints in strategic places but make sure they are appropriate to the room. If you can afford it, consider having a wall or room mural painted on the walls in your childs favorite theme such as a magical forest, sports or race cars.

Decorate with photos of your childs most fondest memories. Family pictures of fun vacations or photos of your child on a day of achievement can add a personal touch to his or her room.

Depending on the age of your child, consider adding lifelike statues of his or her favorite cartoon characters or super heroes. This can add a bit of whimsy and make the decor unique.

Plants always add softness to any room and live plants help to clean the air. Just be sure you donât add any plants that can be toxic and that your child is old enough not to dig in the dirt in the pots!

Donât forget about the lampshades when decorating a kids room. Lamps and their shades can be purchased to accent any type of theme. You can also try making your own shades by buying plain ones and embellishing them with accents the compliment the rooms theme. Make it into a project that you can do with your child and they will really feel a sense of accomplishment every time they go into their room and see the lampshade.

Select your bedding to match the theme of the room as well as for comfort. Be sure to buy sheets, pillows and comforters that can be mixed and matched and donât forget to add some extra accent pillows. You can even buy curtains that match the bedding, or if the curtains are not available for the bedding you have chosen, buy an extra set of sheets and make your own curtains.

Turn your childs ceiling into a magical night sky with glow in the dark decorations. These can be fun and even comforting for your child to be able to lay in bed and gaze up at the night stars.

Donât forget to put educational and informative things into your kids bedroom. Include books, charts and toys that add to the childs education. Then your children can be learning while having fun.
Decorating your kids bedroom is a great way to give them a place they can call their own inside your home. You might even find your kid spending more time in there!

i'm redoing my bedroom and i need ideas?

Haley

i'm 18, and i've had the same bedroom for almost 10 years. the walls are lime green, bright blue, and purple. its a decently sized room, and the carpet is an off white (with many stains...oops!). i have another room attatched to my bedroom (its over the garage) and i painted it a rich red color with zebra pattern painted on the cieling and parts of the wall, so i'm trying to avoid animal print and the color red. i just have absolutely noo idea how to decorate my bedroom. i want either a theme or a color scheme to go off of but i cant come up with anything. i'm not really 'girly' but i'm not a total tomboy either. also, i'm much more of an adult than a kid/teenager, so something more adult, yet, not boring, ya know? any suggestions?

How do I decorate my room in a vintage film-inspired style that's a bit edgy?

Niloo R

I just got a new house and wanted to decorate my bedroom in a vintage style, but with an artsy edge. I kind of wanted to incorporate a 1920s glamor style with the dresses, vanity chair etc, but also a 1960s style with things like andy warhol - kind of breakfast at tiffany's inspired. but i also wanted to make it a bit edgier, with kind of surrealist salvador dali-ish elements, and maybe some james dean. I want my room to be film-inspired, so maybe i could have some vintage film posters? I kind of have all these ideas but don't know how to incorporate them into one bedroom. If you have any suggestions about textures or color schemes that would be great. Also, I have a walk-in closet and a bathroom, so any suggestions for those would also be appreciated.

Answer
Art deco, an architectural style popular from the 1920s until the 1940s, is all about glamour. The use of mirrors was frequent in art deco design, along with rich woods, pale color schemes and splashes of animal print. The two styles complement each other, with art deco giving a touch of sophistication to the simplicity of contemporary.
Add glamour and sophistication with art deco elements. Include splashes of color in pastels In an all-white or cream color scheme, pinks and teals are the perfect art deco complements. Since you wanted to add posters, and you like Andy Warhol, why not frame a poster of Marilyn Monroe (which incorporates the pinks and teals) http://www.cvm.qc.ca/mboudreault/Images%20Jpeg/Andy%20Warhol,%20%20Marilyn.jpg
And perhaps a poster of one of Salvador Dali's prints (make sure the colors work with the other posters.)
Add crystal lamps for further glamour enhancement. And don't forget the animal print. No art deco room is complete without a little zebra or cheetah print. An animal skin on the floor, a velvet pillow and throw or an ottoman at the end of your bed.
You could incorporate a cute pewter wall hook that is reminescint of the 20s (flappers) and hang things like scarves, or sweaters from the hooks.
http://store.northrivermint.net/thrflpr.html
Either hang a movie reel clock (item 191), or to further incorporate Marilyn Monroe (and James Dean) go for the Monroe/Dean clock (item 239)
http://www.hometheatreinteriors.com/qs3/products.php?catid=10&category=CLOCKS#thumb
You could use a movie reel table as your nightstand
http://www.hometheatreinteriors.com/qs3/products.php?catid=3&category=FURNISHING
You could also hang a 3d movie reel metal sculpture (item 131) or the standard 3d comedy/tragedy metal sculpture (item 133) from the wall

Ideas for redesigning a teen girl room?

CosmoGurl8

I am thinking about redesigning my room to a light blue and light green paint and maybe a bit of brown, i don't know. But I already found a bedding. I'm just looking for like extras to go in my room like wall decor, cheap drapes, lamps, shelves, little stuff like that. Websites and pics would help! Here's the link for the bedding I like.

Good room decor' ideas?? :)?

Good room ideas for a teenage girl with a budget of $125???

Answer
Hello,
Paint is usually the least expensive way to decorate. The next I'd get bedding, a lamp, a few throw pillows at Walmart and then go to a dollar store and build your own flower arrangements. They have the flowers, vases and even marbles or moss to put in them. This should give you a nice start to decorating your room. You may even have money left for some drape panels, you can find affordable ones at Walmart, Anna's Linens and Target.

And, all the flowers at the dollar store don't look like something your Grandmother would have, you just have to look for the modern-looking ones.

teen girl bedroom redecorating ideas?

Emelia C

i have had the same bedroom since i was 10! and i am now 13! it's a little to much pink, baby blue and yellow. and i was planning on redecorating sometime soon. it would be very helpful if you could give me some ideas or a link to a website that might help :) i'm not necessarily on a low budget but i cant spend a lot

some ideas for my bedroom are
-colourful
-fun
-cozy
-and just stuff like signs that say: laugh, love, ect.

Answer
You're right, a bedroom should be all of those things! I'm a teenage girl too and I'm currently in the middle of decorating my bedroom! I've got some ideas for you here but just to give you a few ideas I'm doing my bedroom with purple, pink, and lime green. I've painted the wall behind my bed a really nice purple colour and I have a gorgeous purple, pink, and green bedding set. I'm gonna buy some cute lamps and a rug for my room and then I think I'll be done! Here are some ideas for your room:
First off, get a theme or colour scheme. For example, you could decorate your room in a shabby-chic style or maybe a more glamorous movie-star theme! It's up to You! If you don't want a theme then just get a colour scheme. Say, bright candy-apple green and lollipop pink! This can look AMAZING! This is a website with lots of different themes. Just click on the themes in the top left-hand corner for inspiration!

http://themeroomideas.com/Victorian/Vintâ¦

http://themeroomideas.com/Marie-Antoinetâ¦

Move around your furniture if you think it will look better with, say, the bed under the window and your desk near the door. Now buy your bedding, paint, and curtains, as these can really change a room! Buy bedding that either matches your paint or is in a coordinating colour. Look at these websites or Google around for ideas and pictures!

http://www.home-designing.com/2008/09/teâ¦

http://www.roomdecoratingideas.net/blackâ¦

You colud paint all your walls, just one accent wall behind the bed, (This is what I did in my room! :D ) or you could do stripes or wallpaper! It's up to you!

Once you've got your basics, do the really fun part. Shopping! Bring a friend if you like and go to lots of different shops. Try to look out for...
Beanbags,
Floor cushions,
Mirrors,
Wall Art,
Cute Furniture like trunks that you can store stuff in!
Lamps,
A cool headboard,
An area or accent rug (This is quite important!)
And stuff like that.

I think that's a great idea to do signs around the place! There are different ways you could do this:
*If you're creative, You could use blackboard paint and either paint maybe a whole wall of it or just a section, maybe in a cool heart or star shape! Then you can write and draw and scribble all over it as much as you like! The best part is, it'll be super-easy to put up a new word or phrase whenever you want to!
*You could also just paint, write or stencil directly onto the wall with whatever words you like. How about writing someting like "Freindship" or "Love" above your bed or window?! Ask your parents first though!
*If you don't want to do any of these, you can buy wooden letters from a craft shop and decorate them any way you want, then either attach them to the wall with glue, arranch them on a shelf, or hang them from the ceiling with pretty ribbons!

You can also display medals & trophies you've won, framed school papers, photos and general treasures to personalise your room. Have fun and enjoy it and if you're girlie, don't forget Fairy Lights!

Check out websites like these too:

Have fun and make it you!

Teen Girl Bedroom Ideas HELP!?

Erin

I am 13 years old and my room is still decorated like a little girl's room. Its very pink and...well I don't like it! My dad promised me that he would re-decorate my room this summer. I have NO CLUE what to do for this new "dream room"

Do you have any idea's? Pictures? or suggestions? Please let me know! Here are some things that you should know...
I HATE PINK!!!!!!
My favorite color is purple.
I am 13
I like zebra print
MODERN is the style i want
I would like this to last me until I move out of my house so I have to like it for a LONG time.
Make it in an appropriate budget!!!

THANK YOU!!!

Answer
haha I did that last summer (I'm fifteen). Personally, I painted my walls bright turquoise with some mod chocolate-colored ovals scattered around (very 60s). Honestly, if you want the room to last a long time, steer clear of zebra print (except maybe for a few throw pillows or a quilt). please trust me on this--I've made this mistake before with tiger stripes. Such a bad idea if you go too far.
I'm assuming you'll be keeping your existing furniture, since you're on a budget, which is good (that's what I did). Here's what I'd suggest:
1. paint your walls a purple color that's not too dark, has some pop to it, and makes you smile/relaxed.
2. Get some new room accessories and bedding, like a duvet, lampshades, a jewelry box...basically anything that adds flair and fits with the theme. Lighter/complimentary shades of purple or some zebra striped things.
3. If you want/if it's not too expensive, choose a new rug. Go to FLOR.com for some cool rugs (and you can pick whatever size you want), or check out ikea or target for something a little less expensive.
4. have fun!! choose things that really make you smile, or your room will be a real drag to be in :)
happy decorating!

Design a Room to be used in a different way than normal?

k_shepherd

In my new house the entry room is a Large room that typically people use as a formal sitting area and a second dining area. I DON'T want to. I want ideas on what else I could do to the space. A play room? Some help please!

Answer
When walking into a home, I would hesitate to use the entry way, or the first visible room, as a playroom. Play rooms are seldom tidy because, well, kids will be kids and playing is their job. I, personally would not want to walk into my home and see or have guests walk into a play area. So, if you can set up the children's play things elsewhere, that would be ideal.

Some other ideas would be:

A Cocktail Lounge: Set up a good size fully stocked wet bar with glass shelving to display glass stemware, pitchers, wine and liquor. Collect vintage bar items for display and use them, too.
Have a couple areas of group seating in cushy chairs and love seats.
You could decorate it like an upscale hotel lounge or perhaps some tropical plantation decor with wicker or maybe an English Pub setting with leather seating.

A Hunting Room: Decorate with prints of hunting scenes with hound dogs. No hunters in the house? A taxidermy always has unclaimed or abandoned orders that are taking up space in the shop. Just ask what he may have that he needs to get rid of and you will instantly have some authentic "gaming" decor. In this room you can set up quaint library and seating. Framed prints of old fashioned fishing rods, guns, game and foul. Look at old English decorating for ideas.

A Home Theater: Get several love seats and set up a place to watch movies after installing a Home Theater System. Oh, don't forget the popcorn machine.

A Gaming Room: Have a table and chairs set up for board games and card games. Install built in shelving with doors to store games in. Have a wet bar for refreshments and snacks. Have a chess or a checkerboard table set up, ready to play. Have friends over for game night and play poker, Pictionary, Tabu or other fun games. Collect old game boards for wall art.

I would have a drop leaf table set up in any case. This way you can escape to have a quiet cup of coffee and a muffin or a hot bowl of soup and even set it up for a change of pace for dinner for two. While not having a bonafide dining area set up, it is there if you want a change.

You can still set up a living room of sorts but not your typical formal living room that nobody uses. I hope one of my ideas inspires you to decorate a style that suits your taste.

how can i make my room more grown up?

laxgirlx56

i am a teenager and my room looks like its for a little kid. also its the same two colors, pink and green. i want 2 have my room more grown up with out spending a lot. i found this really cute bedding that it white with blue and green pocka-dots on it. also my walls are lime green. how can i make it more grown up without going over around $150?

and i might pain it a different color. please help me find ways my room can b more grown up!!!!

Answer
I agree - the lime green is a great color for the walls - and it sounds like it would match perfectly with the new bedding you found!

Here are some websites I liked for decorating ideas:

Also, pillows are pretty easy to sew (or you can just make a new cover and stick an old pillow inside) and that would make your room even more comfy for you and your friends - you could find some fabric that coordinates with your bedding colors.

I love scrapbooking paper - it's pretty inexpensive, and you can cover things with it - for example - you could cover some different sized shoe boxes with coordinating, but different, paper for the boxes and lids and make some really cute storage boxes for pretty cheap! You could also ask you parents for permission to cover and decoupage your light switch and outlet covers (using something like Mod-Podge).
This website has the "how-to's": http://www.kyledesigns.com/product/DECOUPAGESWITCHPLATE
And Etsy has some great light switch covers for sale (but you can also just look for ideas): http://www.etsy.com/search_results.php?search_type=tag_title&search_query=light+switch+covers

Have fun, add little touches that reflect you and what you are interested in, keep it cleaned up and organized, and you'll have a perfect space to relax! Good luck to you!

- Katie :)

Flies, Spiders, and Wasps...?

AlysrianXi

We live in northern Utah. We bought our home about 3 years ago (it's about 3 blocks from a landfill, but you wouldn't notice unless you went inside MY house) and the yard was a complete disaster. Just image a river rock acre of land, with a river made of river rocks dissecting my proprerty in half. Not to mention the poplar trees that attract these wasps, and are slowly trying to create MORE poplar trees. Our yard was the disaster yard, from the very start. My husband and I have agreed that if we had known about the yard before the snow melted, that we would NOT have bought the house.

We slowly made it so that our yard has GRASS! With the grass came NEW problems. We piled all of those rocks into random spots in the yard, and instantly noticed small black furry (2cm) spiders making egg cacoons attached to underneath the rocks. These spiders are NOW coming inside the house. There are millions of them outside, I have no idea what they are or if they are dangerous. I know, get rid of the rock piles. That is slow going, as it turns out the old owners decided to STEAL rocks from the neighbors. It's the joke of the neighborhood now that we are removing them. ;P I remove two rocks a day, and dump them near the local river on the way to drop my kidlet off at school. We can't take them to the dump, as the dump won't allow us to drop them there. I also have sprayed every rock pile and around the house every 2 weeks. It does not seem to stop them from multiplying. Note: I have also found a hobo spider, and a "basement" spider. But only one of each, and never since.

I also noticed about a year into moving into the house, we get MILLIONS of flies inside the home. We do NOT have screen doors (I'm investing in them next summer), and I have to hang 2 sticky fly strips in each room (that's a lot of rooms). I wind up replacing each of them at least once a week. Even in the winter (winter here this year was mid-oct, and I am still combatting the flies!).

I have made sure that the garbage cans are well away from the house to detract the flies from entering inside. I am also VERY OCD about cleaning. I have a "spring cleaning" EVERY month, at least. I am also still moving into our house (no boxes left!), so I am constantly re-arranging furniture and cleaning around/under/through it. BUT, we have ZERO clutter. I just don't know WHERE to put stuff yet. I also have been painting a room a month, so each room gets an overhaul before/after we paint. We have cats, but I do their liter box once a week. I keep their food in a closed storage container. Also, the flies don't seem attracted to the "cat area". I also made sure that most of our food is constantly put away in either sealed containers or put in the fridge once opened. The kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms and living areas are constantly swarmed with flies. I have four fly swatters, and taught the kidlets to use them. I spray them if I get fed up with the sticky strips not working.

We also get wasps. These are paper wasps, and we are ALL allergic to the stings. I have taken to carrying our EpiPens on us whenever we step outside the house. These wasps are attracted to the siding on our house, light fixtures, our new wood playset, the poplar trees, and our new wood kids' cottage. Even during the winter these wasps also do NOT leave. We spray them and then knock down their nests, but they ALWAYS come back to the same locations. I can count of 5 different hives outside my front door that are STILL active right now.

I don't know what to do anymore about all these pests! Any suggestions would be helpful. Please note that I have tried ALL different types of solutions/sprays to remove ALL of these pests. Trust me, google has been my friend for the past year or two. We're at our wits end. Being a military family, we just wanted to buy a home to grow old in. But, it seems like we might just sell the dang house to get out of here!

Help! I need some help getting rid of these bugs! We're stuck in the middle of an infestation!

Edit: guess I should also add that we had to call an exterminator the first week of moving in. I have them on speeddial now. We have spent over $4,000 on killing these bugs since moving in. It is getting too expensive to continue living here! You can't imagine how much money we have spent just trying to live pest free!
We don't live in the country and we don't live near a river. The old owners gathered these rocks from a river, previous neighbors, and who knows where. The closest river is about a mile away. We live in a cul de sac. However, we're the ONLY ones dealing with these bugs. My closest neighbors get a few spiders from our yard, but zero flies and no wasps. Our yard actually extends BACK behind our house, not to the sides at all. Our neighbors are about 20-30 feet on either side of us. It's a great plot of land.

My main concern is the cost of it all. Besides being allergic, having to budget $200 for bug killer materials every two weeks is too expensive for us. We had no idea that this would happen! What a disaster!

I automatically assumed it the was the landfill causing the flies to gravitate towards the homes here. Our other neighbors DO get flies, but nowhere near the extent we have gotten. Shoot! Even the flies started coming inside the house within a week
I am also talking about MILLIONS of flies, spiders, and wasps. I'm not trying to "kill the outdoors". I'm trying to have a HOME in a cul de sac. I can't even COUNT them all. I walk in my front door and it's like a swam of flies, so bad you can't breathe. Lately, we've been staying in a hotel it's been that bad.

As per the spiders? MILLIONS. Can't send the kids out to play. Too scared they are danerous. They keep laying eggs too. Move a rock? See 50 skitter away.

Wasps? Tried to remove the hives, they come back. Even in winter. They are supposed to migrate in the winter. These paper wasps don't. MILLIONS of them too. Husband bought a beekeepers suit jic. Can't walk in the front door. Must ALWAYS drive car into the garage, and enter through the garage door. Thank god no bee hives inside there.

I'm not talking about a SMALL amount here. If it was a small amount, I would be fine. My husband is from ND, and lived
on a farm. I lived in GA, on a farm. We've lived ALL over the world. There are MILLIONS of these bugs! This is a cul de sac, in the middle of TOWN! Help!
The "river" in the middle of our property was "created" by the old owners. It's not a river, never filled with water. It was a trench dug in the middle of our property and filled with river rocks they had collected. It wasn't a REAL river. It was also the FIRST thing we filled and fixed. Our entire yard is grass and trees now. With the occassional spots of rocks piled up along the back border of our propert.

The old owners made our entire yard a "rock bed". There was ZERO grass and ZERO water. We removed the rocks because they were hazards sticking up and random things like rusted nails throughout the yard. Who wants a river made of rocks cutting their property in half?? It wasn't even a "river".

Answer
You should move.

That sounds awfully blunt and not especially helpful, I know...but still. Being close to the river bed puts you close to water, and bugs like water. A moist environment makes it good for flies. Having all those nooks and crannies in the rock piles makes a nice little environment for spiders, too.

Frankly, as allergic as you are and as obviously upset by all the bugs as you are, you shouldn't be out in the country at all. There's no place on Earth where you're going to get completely away from bugs of some kind or another (literal fact: flies have been found at McMurdo Base in Antarctica), so at some point you have to resign yourself to the inevitable presence of at least a FEW bugs. Most people can't afford the stringent sequestration and elimination processes that remove every last undesired lifeform for, say, microelectronics assembly clean rooms.

You won't get rid of the flies. Being so close to the river, you just won't. Eliminating the rock piles may eliminate the spiders; not knowing the species I couldn't begin to guess closer than that. And where there are trees, there will be wasps. Where there is siding, there will be wasps. I know that last from painful experience.

You might be happier in Salt Lake City, in an apartment. Because as it stands, you are trying to kill the Great Outdoors and I have to tell you, the Great Outdoors is both stronger and more patient than you, and will win whatever battle you bring against it.

Good luck.

[edit]
Okay, I guess I misinterpreted your earlier statements. Not next to a river: got it.

Somehow or other, here at work one of my buildings gets a fly hatch every spring. The basement just fills up with flies. Concentrated effort (lots of flypaper, no poisons) has radically reduced their numbers but not eliminated them, and I've been working on it for 16 years. Gotta get them all before they get a chance to breed and lay eggs; where they lay them I have no idea, and where precisely they come in from I also cannot determine.

However, you say your problem is the yard and paradoxically it's pretty late in the year. Again I have only one recommendation: move. Clearly this problem is causing you great emotional stress, get out before it drives you bonkers. Finding and correcting whatever microenvironment that makes this property such a nexus for bug activity may be well beyond affordability, I think you might be best off to just get the heck out.

Shoot! Even the flies started coming inside the house within a week of moving in.

Answer
WOW! You have a house full. If it's as bad as you say, you have a problem that is almost too much to handle. You seem to be doing all the right things, but not getting ahead of the critter population.
1. Secure the house so they can no longer get in. Caulk all cracks, fill holes, and put screens on all the windows and doors.
2. Bomb the house. You can buy cans of "Fogger" at the local hardware store or Home Center. Each will do a single 12 x 12 room. Follow the directions on the can: close up the house, open the cabinets and closet doors, turn off pilot lights, set them off and evacuate until fumigation is complete.
3. Fly papers are good, but insufficient for the size of your pest problem. Go to a Farm store and get fly and wasp traps that are designed for use on ranches, in barns, and in animal breeding/husbandry areas. Place them inside and outside the house.
4. Do what you can to encourage animals that feed on insects. Bats, lizards, frogs, and birds will help reduce the infestation.
5. Keep the doors and windows closed or make sure that screens are securely in place when they are open.

Contact the County health representative in your area, or a local university for further assistance in getting the pests under control. Good Luck

Beach theme bedroom? need help fast!!!!?

Matilda

so my bed cover is the perfect thing for a bwach styled room. it has blue, green, and dark blue circles on it, and my pillows are 2 blue and one green. once i painted my room yellow and it was really nice. for the beach theme, i was thinking like maybe painting my walls light blue, but my sis is going to do that, and blue is a cool color. i want my room to be warm and fun. so no blue and white. more like tropical! sorry if i sound confusing, but any idea would be so much help! thank you :)

Answer
you're not confusing, you just have lots of ideas. If you really want beach, think about seashells on shelves, framed photos of seashells. but first, think of what kind of beach setting you want: a fun beach with kids playing with beachballs and girls wearing flip flops, or the beach on a island resort in Mexico? Is your "beach" in the US or another country? If you're too general you might end up not liking what you do.

If you mean the tropics, then think of Hawaii and bright colors, not muted colors like pastels. Stick to a color theme whether its soft colors or bright colors. If you're still liking Hawaii then think of paper leis and coconuts, dancing natives, grass skirting for your bed.
It sounds like you want a beachy feel, though. If not the beach, how about the ocean? Think small sea shells, sea glass, anchors, big old ships. You can do alot with framed prints and by adding a small area rug that already has the design you want on it so it sets the mood FOR you. you could even find things like smaller beachballs, natural colored netting, or a small round life preserver and hang them from a corner of the ceiling, or on a wall. If you add a lamp stick with the theme: i've seen glass lamps filled with seashells and sand, I've seen lamps that are decorated or have a beachy look or use the lamp you might already have and just change the shade to the color or design you want.
And you thought YOU sounded confused? just kidding, you might consider fish, as in an underwater theme. Or just add live fish- Betas are so adorable and pretty and easy to care for.
I hope I've helped you! Good luck.

In need of guidance for our first Samhain, please?

Le Fae

Okay, so it won't be my first Samhain per se, but I do want this year to be the first time I construct an altar and really focus on remembering those that have passed. I have been 'studying' pagan and wiccan traditions for over 10 years, but never felt like I could call myself a true pagan or wiccan, I really would like that to change.

I was blessed with my first child this spring, (a boy!) and would really like to start him off on the proverbial right foot. He will be just 6 months on October 31st, so right now it really is more for my husband and I than him, but we feel that our memories are just as important as our sons.

My question is how do other pagan/wiccan families celebrate Samhain with their children?

Also, subject of great debate for us, what is the proper pronunciation? *lol* 'Sow'in', 'Sow-ween', 'Sam-in'?

Thanks and Blessed Be!
I am sorry Valentina, but I fail to see how observing the religion of our ancestors that respects those that have come before us and shows love to nature and Earth is childish.

Answer
Congrats on the baby. (sigh) family... I love family. ;-)

In my family we're just used to sow-WHEN. For us it is a 3 day festival, it's gotten kind of big over 20 years, so warning, this is long, lol:

The week leading up to it, we begin to really clean the house. We are big on crafts & making our own decorations. We do some more Americanized "halloween" decorations outdoors (not too gory) but inside it's very Pagan harvest / day of the dead influence.

We have a buffet table in the dining room we set up the altar on for major Sabbats. Harvest decor, skulls & death symbols (nothing gory), candles, cauldron, things from those who died (my dad's lighter, my grandmother's pin, etc).

We write the names of our dead on paper and hang it over the altar... it could be an actual ancestor, pets, recently deceased friends/family, or even celebrities (like I always include Chaucer because he's my favorite writer, and Ben Franklin because he's my hero).

We often cut out a "tree" shape from a grocery bag and hang it above the altar, we call it the "tree of rememberance" and write the names on colored paper leaf-shapes and stick them on the tree. Sometimes we make chains of apples (like paper dolls) and write the names on them.

We bake bread on the 30th morning. Sunset on the 30th we light the "Sun Candle" (we light it at every sabbat) and say prayers & welcome the ancestors, have a big feast and make offerings to them and remember their names and sit around after dinner tell the kids their stories. Sometimes we laugh, sometimes we cry, sometimes both. It's great because the kids 'know' them even though these people died before they were born.

On the 31st, we will wake up, carve jack-o-lanterns & bake pies & such, start our traditional big cauldron of beef stew & other little details, then take a nap... then the kids get into costume and go out trick or treating for a couple of hours.

We often have family/friends come over, so the kids return and we start the prayers & a small, simple, informal family-friendly ritual in honor of the death of the Sun God... and we blow out the Sun Candle and cover it with a black cloth... we bless the feast and make offerings, then we feast.

The kids commence with candy trading negotiations while we clean up a bit and digest, then we tell seasonal stories or the kids do some kind of seasonal enactments (basically they act out the stories).

The kids (and whoever else wants to, like usually my husband who is not a night owl) goes to bed... adults who remain/stay up have a more formal ritual, may include spells or divination or something, or just a discussion (like the year a dear friend died, we just mourned and comforted each other).

We sleep in on Nov. 1st (some people usually sleep over). We wake up, eat leftovers, usually starting with pie, lol. We bury the offerings on the altar & the remains of the sun candle (we make a new one every Yule). We say a closing prayer at Sunset about how life goes on & death is a part of life. Ah, the circle of life. The kids like to sing that song.

Were Adam and Eve ever married?

luna

Were there ever any vows taken? If not, would they not have been living in sin and therefore their kids would be illegitamite. If they had only two boys and one killed the other, how did they procreate? Where did the wives come from?

Answer
Nope. They were just shacking up and had alot of illegitimate kids...but seriously...read the following article.

The following is an Article published six or seven years ago in Green Egg.

*We Are the Other People*

by Oberon (Otter) Zell

"Ding-dong!" goes the doorbell. Is it Avon calling? Or perhaps Ed McMahon with my three million dollars? No, it's Yahweh's Witlesses again, just wanting to have a nice little chat about the Bible... Boy, did they ever come to the wrong house! So we invite them in: "Enter freely and of your own will..." (Hey, it's Sunday morning, nothing much going on, why not have a little entertainment?) Diane and I amuse ourselves watching their expressions as they check out the living room: great horned owl on the back of my chair; ceremonial masks and medicine skulls of dragons and unicorns on the wall; crystals, wands, staffs, swords; lots of Goddess figures and several altars; boa constrictors draped in amorous embrace over the elkhorn; white doves sitting in the hanging planters; cats and weasels underfoot; iron dragon snorting steam atop the wood stove; posters and paintings of wizards and dinosaurs and witchy women, some proudly naked; sculptures of mythological beasties and lots more dinosaurs; warp six on the star-filled viewscreen of my computer; a five-foot model of the USS Enterprise and the skeleton of a plesiosaur hanging from the ceiling; very, very many books, most of them dealing with obviously weird subjects... To say nothing of the great horned owl perched on the back of my chair and the Unicorn grazing in the front yard. You know; early Addams Family decor. And then, of course, it being late in the morning, you can expect Morning Glory to come wandering out naked, looking for her wake-up cup of tea. Morning Glory naked is a truly impressive sight, and the Witlesses look as if she'd set titties on stun as they stand immobilised, hands clasped over their genitals. With the stage set and all the actors in place, the show is ready to begin.

Their mission, of course, is to save our heathen souls by turning us on to "The Word of the Lord"- their Bible. I guess they figure some of us just haven't heard about it yet, and we're all eagerly awaiting their joyous tidings of personal salvation through giving our rational faculties to Jesus. Every time they come around, I look forward to trying out a new riposte. Sure, it may be cruel and sadistic of me, but hey, I didn't call them up and ask them to come over; they entered at their own risk! This time should be pretty good. After letting them run off their basic rap while lovely Morning Glory serves us all hot herb tea, I innocently remark: "But none of that applies to us. We have no need for salvation because we don't have original sin. We are the Other People."

"Hunh? What?" they reply eloquently. It's clear they've never heard this one before. "

Right," I say. "It's all in your Bible." And I proceed to tell them the story, using their own book for reference: (Genesis 1:26) The [Elohim] said, "Let us make humanity in our own image, in the likeness of ourselves, and let them be masters of the fish of the sea, the birds of heaven, the cattle, all the wild beasts and all the reptiles that crawl upon the earth." Elohim is a plural word, including male and female, and should properly be translated "Gods" or "Pantheon." (1: 27) The Gods created humanity in the image of themselves, In the image of the Gods they created them, Male and female they created them. (1:28) The Gods blessed them, saying to them, "Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth and conquer it. Be masters of the fish of the sea, the birds of heaven and all living animals on the earth."

Now clearly, here we are talking about the original creation of the human species: male and female. All the animals, plants, etc. have all been created in previous verses. This is before the Garden of Eden, and Yahweh is not mentioned as the creator of these people.

The next chapter talks about how Yahweh, an individual member of the Pantheon, goes about assembling his own special little botanical and zoological Garden in Eden, and making his own little man to inhabit it: (Gen 2:7) Yahweh God fashioned a man of dust from the soil. Then he breathed into his nostrils a breath of life, and thus the man became a living being. (2:8) Yahweh God planted a garden in Eden which is in the east, and there he put the man he had fashioned. (2:9) Yahweh God caused to spring up from the soil every kind of tree, enticing to look at and good to eat, with the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the middle of the garden. (2:15) Yahweh God took the man and settled him in the garden of Eden to cultivate and take care of it. Now this next is crucial: note Yahweh's precise words: (2:16) Then Yahweh God gave the man this admonition, "You may eat indeed of all the trees in the garden. (2:17) Nevertheless of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you are not to eat, for on the day you eat of it you shall most surely die." Fateful words, those. We will refer back to this admonition later.

Then Yahweh decides to make a woman to go with the man. Now, don't forget that the Pantheon had earlier created a whole population of people, "male and female," who are presumably doing just fine somewhere "outside the gates of Eden." But this set-up in Eden is Yahweh's own little experiment, and will unfold to its own separate destiny. (2:21) So Yahweh God made the man fall into a deep sleep. And while he slept, he took one of his ribs and enclosed it in flesh. (2:22) Yahweh God built the rib he had taken from the man into a woman, and brought her to the man. Right. Man gives birth to woman. Sure he does. But that's the way the story is told here. (2:25) Now both of them were naked, the man and his wife, but they felt no shame in front of each other. Well, of course not! Why should they? But take careful note of those words, as they also will prove to be significant...

Now this next part is where it starts to get interesting. Enter the Serpent: (Gen. 3:1) The serpent was the most subtle of all the wild beasts that Yahweh God had made. It asked the woman, "Did God really say you were not to eat from any of the trees in the garden?" (3:2) The woman answered the serpent, "We may eat the fruit of the trees in the garden. (3:3) "But of the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden God said, 'You must not eat it, nor touch it, under pain of death." (3:4) Then the serpent said to the woman, "No! You will not die! (3:5) "God knows in fact that on the day you eat it your eyes will be opened and you will be like gods, knowing good and evil."

What a remarkable statement! "Your eyes will be opened and you will be like gods, knowing good and evil." The Serpent directly contradicts Yahweh. Obviously, one of them has to be lying. Which one, do you suppose? And, if the serpent speaks true, wouldn't you wish to eat of the magic fruit? Wouldn't it be a good thing, to become "like gods, knowing good and evil"?

Or is it preferable to remain in ignorance?

(Gen. 3:6) The woman saw that the tree was good to eat and pleasing to the eye, and that it was desirable for the knowledge that it could give. So she took some of its fruit and ate it. She gave some also to her husband who was with her, and he ate it. (3:7) Then the eyes of both of them were opened and they realised that they were naked. So they sewed fig leaves together to make themselves loincloths. The author makes an interesting assumption here: that if you realise you are naked you will automatically want to cover yourself. Further implications will unfold shortly...

(Gen. 3:8) The man and his wife heard the sound of Yahweh God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from Yahweh God among the trees of the garden. (3:9) But Yahweh God called to the man. "Where are you?" he asked. (3:10) "I heard the sound of you in the garden," he replied. "I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid." (3:11) "Who told you that you were naked?" he asked. "Have you been eating of the tree I forbade you to eat?"

And so the sign of the Fall becomes modesty. Take note of this. The descendants of Adam and Eve will be distinguished throughout history from virtually all other peoples by their obsessive modesty taboos, wherein they will feel ashamed of being naked. It follows that those who feel no shame in being naked are, by definition, not carriers of this spiritual disease of original sin!

(Gen. 3:12) The man replied, "It was the woman you put with me; she gave me the fruit, and I ate it." Right. Blame the woman. What a turkey! (3:13) Then Yahweh God asked the woman, "What is this you have done?" The woman replied, "The serpent tempted me and I ate." So of course she blames the serpent. But just what did the serpent do that was so evil? Why, he called Yahweh a liar! Was he wrong? Let's see... (3:21) Yahweh God made clothes out of skins for the man and his wife, and they put them on. Out of skins? This means that Yahweh had to kill some innocent animals to pander to Adam and Eve's new obsession with modesty!

And now we come to the crux of the Fall. Yahweh had said back there in chapter (2:17), regarding the fruit of the tree of knowledge, that "on the day you eat of it you shall most surely die." The Serpent, on the other hand, had contradicted Yahweh in chapter (3:4-5): "No! You will not die! God knows in fact that on the day you eat it your eyes will be opened and you will be like gods, knowing good and evil." So what actually happened? Who lied and who told the truth about this remarkable fruit? The answer is given in the next verse: (3:22) Then Yahweh God said, "See, the man has become like one of us, with his knowledge of good and evil. He must not be allowed to stretch his hand out next and pick from the tree of life also, and eat some and live forever."

Get that? Yahweh himself admits that he had lied! In fact, and in Yahweh's own words, the Serpent spoke the absolute truth! And moreover, Yahweh tells the rest of the Pantheon that he intends to evict Adam (and presumably Eve as well) to keep them from gaining immortality to go with their newly-acquired divine knowledge. To prevent them, in other words, from truly becoming gods! So who, in this story, comes off as a benefactor of humanity, and who comes off as a tyrant? THE SERPENT NEVER LIED!

This story, to digress slightly, bears a remarkable resemblance to a contemporary tale from ancient Greece. In that version, the Serpent (later identified as Lucifer, the Light-Bearer) may be equated with the heroic titan Prometheus, who championed humanity against the tyranny of Zeus, who wished for people to be mere slaves of the gods. Prometheus, whose name means "forethought," gave people wisdom, intelligence, and fire stolen from Olympus. Moreover, he ordained the portions of animal sacrifice so that humans got the best parts (the meat and hides) while the portion that was burned to the gods was the bones and fat. In punishment for this defiance of his divine authority, Zeus condemned Prometheus to a terrible punishment for an immortal: to be chained to a mountain in the Caucasus, where Zeus' gryphon/eagle (actually a Lammergier) would devour his liver each day. It would grow back each night. Zeus promised to relent if Prometheus would reveal his great secret knowledge: Who would succeed Zeus as supreme god? Prometheus refused to tell, but history has revealed the answer...

The interesting thing about all this is that the Greeks properly regarded Prometheus as a noble hero in his defiance of unjust tyranny. One may wonder why the Serpent is not so well regarded. On the contrary, snakes are loathed throughout Christendom. (3:23) So Yahweh God expelled him from the garden of Eden, to till the soil from which he had been taken. (3:24) He banished the man, and in front of the garden of Eden he posted the cherubs, and the flame of a flashing sword, to guard the way to the tree of life.

So that's it for the Fall. But the story of Adam and Eve doesn't end there. (Gen 4:1) The man had intercourse with his wife Eve, and she conceived and gave birth to Cain... (4:2) She gave birth to a second child, Abel, the brother of Cain. Now Abel became a shepherd and kept flocks, while Cain tilled the soil. (4:3) Time passed and Cain brought some of the produce of the soil as an offering for Yahweh, (4:4) while Abel, for his part, brought the first-born of his flock and some of their fat as well. Yahweh looked with favour on Abel and his offering. But he did not look with favour on Cain and his offering, and Cain was very angry and downcast. Well, why shouldn't he be? Both brothers had brought forth their first fruits as offerings, but Yahveh rejected the vegetables and only accepted the blood sacrifice. This was to set a gruesome precedent: (4:8) Cain said to his brother Abel, "Let us go out;" and while they were in the open country, Cain set on his brother Abel and killed him.

Accursed and marked for fratricide, (4:16) Cain left the presence of Yahweh and settled in the land of Nod, east of Eden. We can assume that the phrase "left the presence of Yahweh" implies that Yahweh is a local deity, and not omnipresent. Now Eden, according to (Gen. 2:14-15), was situated at the source of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, apparently right where Lake Van is now, in Turkey. "East of Eden," therefore, would probably be along the shores of the Caspian Sea, right in the Indo-European heartland. Cain settled in there, among the people of Nod, and married one of the women of that country. Here, for the first time, is specifically mentioned the "other people" who are not of the lineage of Adam and Eve. i.e: the Pagans.

So let's look at this story from another viewpoint: There we were, around six thousand years ago, living in our little farming communities around the Caspian Sea, in the land of Nod, when this dude with a terrible scar comes stumbling in out of the sunset. He tells us this bizarre story, about how his mother and father had been created by some god named Jahweh, and put in charge of a beautiful garden somewhere out west, and how they had gotten thrown out for disobedience after eating some of the landlord's forbidden magic fruit of enlightenment. He tells us of murdering his brother, as the god of his parents would only accept blood sacrifice, and of receiving that scar as a mark so that all would know him as a fratricide.

The poor guy is really a mess psychologically, obsessed with guilt. He is also obsessively modest, insisting on wearing clothes even in the hottest summer, and he has a hard time with our penchant for skinny-dipping in the warm inland sea. He seems to believe that he is tainted by the "sin" of his parent's disobedience; that it is in his blood, somehow, and will continue to contaminate his children and his children's children. One of our healing women takes pity on the poor sucker, and marries him... (4:17) Cain had intercourse with his wife, and she conceived and gave birth to Enoch. He became the builder of a town, and he gave the town the name of his son Enoch.

With both of their first sons not turning out very well, Adam and Eve decided to try again: (4:25) Adam had intercourse with his wife, and she gave birth to a son whom she named Seth... (4:26) A son was also born to Seth, and he named him Enosh. This man was the first to invoke the name of Yahweh. Now it doesn't mention here where Seth's wife came from. Another woman from Nod, possibly, or maybe someone from another neolithic community downstream in the Tigris-Euphrates valley. But her folks also, cannot be of the lineage of Adam and Eve, and must also be counted among "the other people." But whatever happened to Adam? After all, way back there in chapter Gen. 2:17, warning Adam about the magic fruit of knowlege, Jahweh had told him that "on the day you eat of it you shall most surely die." So, when did Adam die? (Gen. 5:4) Adam lived for eight hundred years after the birth of Seth and he became the father of sons and daughters. (5:5) In all, Adam lived for nine hundred and thirty years; then he died. Hey, that's pretty good! Nine hundred and some odd years isn't bad for a man who's been told he's gonna die the next day!

Well, the story goes on, and maybe next time the Witlesses come to visit I'll tell more of it. But suffice it to say that those of us who are not of Semitic descent (i.e., not of the lineage of Adam and Eve) cannot share in the Original Sin that comes with that lineage. Being that the Bible is the story of that lineage, of Adam and Eve's descendants and their special relationship with their particular god, Yahweh, it follows that this is not the story of the rest of us. We may have been Cain's wife's people, or Seth's wife's people, or some other people over the hill and far away, but whichever people the rest of us are, as far as the Bible is concerned, we are the Other People, and so we are continually referred to throughout.

Later books of the Bible are filled with admonitions to the followers of Jahweh to "learn not the ways of the Pagans..." (Jer 10:2) with detailed descriptions of exactly what it is we do, such as erect standing stones and sacred poles, worship in sacred groves and practice divination and magic. And worship the sun, moon, stars and the "Queen of Heaven." "You must not behave as they do in Egypt where once you lived; you must not behave as they do in Canaan where I am taking you. You must not follow their laws." (Lev 18:3) For Yahweh, as he so clearly emphasises, is not the god of the Pagans. We have our own lineage and our own heritage, and our tale is not told in the Bible. We were not "made" like clay figurines by a male deity out of "dust from the soil." We were born of our Mother the Earth, and have evolved over aeons in Her nurturing embrace. All of us, in our many and diverse tribes, have creation myths and legends of our origins and history; some of these tales may even be actually true.

Like the descendants of Adam and Eve, many of us also have stories of great floods, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and other cataclysms that wiped out whole communities of our people, wherein "I alone survived to tell the tale." Nearly all of our ancestral tribes (and especially those of us who today are reclaiming our own Pagan heritage) lack that peculiar obsessive body modesty that seems to be a hallmark of the original sin alluded to in the story of the Fall. We can be naked and unashamed! Why, our Goddess even tells us, "as a sign that you are truly free, you shall be naked in your rites." Not being born into sin, we have no need of salvation, and no need of a Messiah to redeem our sinful souls.

Neither heaven nor hell is our destination in the afterlife; we have our own various arrangements with our own various deities. The Bible is not our story; we have our own stories to tell, and they are many and diverse. In a long life, you may get to hear many of them... May you live long and prosper!

Need a bedroom re arranging done? HELP!?

Lucas Hemm

To start out, I have A LOT of furniture. A larger desk, large book shelf, two dressers, a stool, and a single bed. I went from a big, big room to when I moved, a SMALL room!
My family is moving again in a year, but that's to long! I want to know the best way to re-arrange, that is space efficient? and some cleaning tips!

Answer
You should draw out a blueprint on some paper. It does not have to be artistic whatsoever. Measure the length and width of your new room and then use a ruler to draw a box representing your room. Make it miniaturized to scale (i.e. if it's 10ft, draw it 10mm or inches).

Here's some examples:
http://www.christineburkeinteriors.com/shop/images/
calvin%20bedroom%20blueprint(1).jpg
(note: I had to break up that link so it fits)

http://blog.havertys.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/StyleBlueprint.jpg

Now, on seperate paper, draw out things like your bed and other big furnishings you want in your room. Draw them to scale like you did the room. Cut each of those out and label them. Now you can organize them around the box shape you drew as your room to figure out the best way to set up all your stuff.

Good luck~ =D

females! inviting bedroom decor ideas?

Lisa

no stupid answers please but sooo me n my husband have this really boring bedroom theres white walls (which we cant paint) a hard floor which doesnt make it cozzy a bed which is just on a boxspring and no head or foot boared, then theres not much of a theme with anything else just a pyramid picture and the starry night picture, well we arent looking to spend alotof money but we wanna make it look like well a sexy bedroom (no not the kind of sexy with pictures of porn stars) just inviting, we dont have many ideas of what to do for decoration and stuff all we did is get some candles everything else, either is too much for an only female bedroom or is too guyish and not appealing for the style where looking for....some ideas? not too much money so keep the ideas more based on accessories and decor vs. furniture and room sized rugs

Answer
There are several things to consider when decorating a room.
1] first, the mood - you said you want it to be cozy and inviting and sexy. What is cozy/iviting/sexy to you?
2] then do the senses - sight! Pick your husband's and your fav color or colors for this room - you will spend 1/3 of your life there!! Consider a comforter or spread in husb fav color, with pattern of your choice; or vice versa. Make sure bedding feels nice to touch, too!
Repeat the color[s] in curtains/drapes, rug, throw pillows, ornaments, art, lamps/shades, vases/planters, candles/holders.
Be sure to have good reading laps on each side of bed.
3] add comfy pillows, such as euros to lean on [ touch ]
4] scented candles or potpourri, if you want [ smell ]
5] a sound system of some kind - for 'mood' music, or just relaxing [ hearing ]
6] frame some beautiful posters or photos that are relaxing/sexy [ maybe a collection of 'kissing' posters ]
7] get rid of or hide anything:
ugly
glaringly unmatched
Not inviting

Teenage bedroom wall decor?

Kate

So I'm going to be painting my room in a few days the colors are going to be pink, purple, blue, and lime green. One wall in my room is completely blank, it will be painted lime green but I'm not sure what kind of decor i should put up to fill the space. I don't want it to be messy or super random, but I do want it to be unique. Any suggestions?

Answer
Buy a big art canvas in the size you need and cover it (staple) with some funky fabric that coordinates with your room colors. Then if that's not enough, add ribbons, sequins, stickers, photos, seashells or any decorations you want.

I need help decorating my kids room with a video game theme.?

Cre8tivemo

My kids (1 boy and 1 girl) love the Nintendo wii, mainly super mario brothers. I would love to decorate their room in a game theme. So far the only thing I can come up with is. My daughter which is 6 years old drew pictures of Mario, Yoshi, Toad, Indiana Jones plus she is going to draw some more and I would like to frame them and display them in their room. But so far this is all I came up with. I am very surprised Nintendo hasn't made a bedspread with the wii logo or even with Super Mario brothers out so long, I would of thought they would of had one with the characters on it. Please help I need ideas and cant do anything too expensive. Thanks everyone
I found this online and thought it was the cutest thing ever. But I am sure that cost some money and I live in a apartment.

You can also print pics of the characters onto iron on transfers, and put onto throw pillows.
I wasn't able to find bedding, but you could use a pic of the characters, and go to one of those places where you can put a picture on a throw blanket. http://www.printablememories.com/photoblankets.html
(how cute would it be to have your kids dress up as mario characters, take their picture, and put it on a throw blanket, then just get a solid comforter in matching hues, and put the throw over it)

15 year old girls bedroom?

Q. Okay.. so Im trying to redo my room a bit and not too much though. Ive had my room vintage paris theme for a while but only want to make it look not so kiddish. Im taking down some of my antique dolls so my room doesn't look like a kids bedroom. Im keeping my room light brown white and black but can you give me ideas more a more grown up style vintage paris room? also I really want to know Ideas for bed sets, mine was made in 1930 but it getting too old and its making weird noises and I need a good comforter to go with it. :) thanks
hah. well I have an antique vanity with a mirror so I dont want a mirror but I will go down to the store to find a good conforter with lace. what about hutches?

Answer
I love the Paris theme! You could hang up big pictures/posters of paris. -Go to the picture section in JoAnn Fabrics. They have tons of sophisticated/fancy-looking posters and pictures of places around the world, like Paris, France. If you go to Target they have really cool French decor for walls! For a bed set, I would choose an elegant white wooden frame/headboard. I would also choose maybe a pretty floral comforter. -Black & white? I would go to Target or maybe Pottery Barn for a comforter. They always have tons pretty designs! -Like Liberty of London at Target. Hope this helped! <3
