Bedroom Decor Help!?!?

MakeupExpe

I'm re-doing my bedroom, and buying this bedspread:
http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=119043

Do you know any pictures/decor that would match this? Please help me!
Price range...it would be.... $10-90. Thanks!

Thank you so much for those who help.
-Cassie

Answer
Cassie,
I would play off the aqua/black in the smallest pillow in that ensemble. You can go to Michael's, and paint a few peace/birds/ designs yourself for really cheap, with the matching aqua color as background; they have that color there. Just that would really tie your room together, no matter what else/other colors you have. Good luck!

Any bedroom decor ideas?

very small bedroom, off white carpet and holland blind, white furniture i want to make it black and white without closing it in and making it look smaller....any suggestions
Concrete walls painted white and trim between roof and wall painted pink (soon painted white or black depending on your suggestions)

Use a large simple print/geometric on the bed

Matching Wall Art
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=28474829

and some Whimsy like http://www.thisnext.com/item/EFB7D2ED/8069E9E7/VivaTerra-Birdcage-Lamp That you can make from an old bird cage yourself.

Oh and if your Holland blind is the simple white one you can attach the wall art to it also, Similarly get a large frame with glass from the thrift shop remove the picture paint the frame black then add the wall art to the glass front and suspend it over the part of the window you leave open during the day. This way when you close the blind at night you still have your picture. http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=12746253 (Etsy is the Bomb)

Finish the top of the window with more theme items such as branches painted black and a nest.

How can I change my rooms theme?

hellodudes

Hi guys, I'm a 14 year old girl and I like changing my room a lot. So now I would like to change my room to kind of green, like nature themed. But I'm not allowed to paint my walls, or use wallpaper. So the problem is my walls are now light purple/pink with some black wallpaper. I have white carpet. How can i change the theme to green when I can't change my walls? Please help thanks, this is really bothering me.

Answer
Well depending on what shade your walls are, you could just change the color of your bed sheets and curtains. Otherwise you might need to pick a new color that you're changing your room to.

modern bedroom design?

natalie

hey so i'm 16 and i'm re-doing my room. i got all new furniture which is a dark brown color. i need help with figuring out what i should paint my walls with an accent color and what my comforter should look like! please help, thank you.

Answer
A modern bedroom design is the ultimate icon of style. It is a crisp, refreshing, and mature decor and it's not a hard interior design to achieve. Follow these steps in order to remodel your own bedroom into one that is modern and stylish.

1. Paint your bedroom walls an off-white, tan, or blue hue.

Modern bedroom styles often have a wide range of wall colors, but they usually have one thing in common; they are all of a lighter, "cool" hue. Often times a modern decor can look even more stylish by using 2 of the colors on opposing walls, just to create a contrast.

2. Choose an accent color.

Modern bedrooms need an accent color to make the main color theme "pop". Reds are the most popular choice because they create such a dramatic contrast, but modern styles allow you a lot of room to be creative in your decor. Use the bedspread, bedroom pillows, and art to display the accent color.

3. Minimize furniture.

There are plenty of fun modern furniture styles to choose from, but keeping the furniture minimal is part of a modern decor. Make sure you have the basics; a bed, dresser, night stands, etc. but try and not clutter the room with much more than those essentials.

4. Choose a stylish lamp that passes for a piece art.

A stylish lamp is what makes a modern bedroom decor click. Choose a lamp that could easily pass for a piece of art and place it in a corner of the room, ideally in the one where the two different wall colors meet.

5. Decorate with art, mirrors, and pictures with steel frames.

Modern bedroom decor has an essence of harmony, but also of starkness, if you aren't careful. Let your own personality warm up the room by choosing artwork and pictures that express your own style.

Boy bedroom theme ideas?

Barbara

My son will be turning 1, and his grandparents are wanting to decorate his room for his birthday. He'll have this theme till he's about 5, or is able to decide on a theme he'd like instead. We're moving into a house 2 days after his birthday, so what better time to do it now! When he was born, we had a teddy bear theme in his room at our apartment. What other themes are there?

- Teddy Bear
- Dinosaur
- Sports
- ???????

Answer
Your baby will do best in a room that doesn't have a theme. Just colorful bedding and an uncluttered room.
Don't buy new crib bedding now. wait till he is out of his crib and into a twin sized bed so it won't be a waste .
Enjoy what you have,

I need ideas for a boys bedroom...?

Amanda C

He's eight years old. He wanted red, and against my better judgement, we painted it red and now everyone, including my son, hates it. So now we have the difficult task of covering up fire engine red paint!!! How many coats of primer will it take?? Also, please give me some ideas for a boys room icluding a nice cool paint color that doesn't overwhelm the rest of the house. His room is fairly small and doesn't get much sunlight, so something that will make it bright and cheery but still look normal.

Answer
Hi Amanda !
Try applying Kiltz over the red paint, it does a great job hiding the other color. Maybe use red as an accent color, esp. since the room is small and does not get much sunlight.
what are his hobbies or interests ? Does he collect anything?
Talk to someone at a do it yourself home improvement store. They will help you.
I like light blue like the sky, or light yellow like sunlight, for the walls for a boy's small bedroom and then decorate according to his interests... dinosaurs, camping, insects, cars, trucks or motorcycles, trains, firemen, policemen, wild animals, farm animals, pets.
Good luck to you and your family!

Ideas for kids bedroom and building shelves!!!!?

Christen

We live in a beautiful home only the 2 extra bedrooms aren't very big. I need ideas on how to better store stuff so my sons room is more roomy and better organized. I plan on making a huge wall shelf that goes up high on the wall and painting it navy blue and getting red canvas containers and putting up there to hold some stuff and decorating it with the sports theme and a couple stuffed animals. Its gonna be huge. I'm excited about my project but maybe you got better ideas or more ideas on how to make my sons room amazing. Eye appealing and organized. Thanks for all the help I can get.

Answer
A kid's bedroom should feel safe, comfortable and have a touch of whimsy. Important considerations are the child's age and interests. If your child is a book lover, collector of Beanies, dolls or baseball memorabilia, you can honor these interests by creating a special space in her room. With your guidance, your child and you can make a great decorating team.

Step 1

Have a chat with your toddler. Does he have a favorite superhero or cartoon? A favorite color? Your son will always remember your respect for his opinion, so this is an important first step.

Step 2

Paint the room and a few furniture pieces to match the walls, such as a bedside table and a headboard.

Step 3

Decorate your toddler's room with bright colors of your (and his) choosing. Find some "big kid" furnishings. Toddlers are learning to dress themselves, so find a short dresser with big knobs. Paint them in bright colors. This allows toddlers to easily pull out the drawers and experience choices in the way they dress.

Step 4

Place a group of cubbies on the floor or hang them on the wall at a height that's reachable for your toddler. Paint them in bright colors, and label them in big letters for things like crayons, books, Playdoh, etc. Cubbies are a great way for kids to learn groupings of objects and organizing. If they go to daycare, they can put their daily arts and crafts projects away in their cubbies until you hang them up later.

Step 5

Frame their artwork. Choose a group of colorful, inexpensive frames and put your child's best pieces into them. Hang them where your child can admire them while dozing off to sleep.

Step 6

Purchase a large toy box at an unpainted furniture store. Paint it in colors that suit your child's tastes. You and your child can paint it together, or he might want to put handprints in different colors all over the box.

Step 7

Choose bedding in colors that complement the paint on the walls and other furnishings. Clashing colors and too much busy-ness should be avoided. Even kids need an oasis.

Step 8

Lay out a soft rug near his bed, especially if you have hardwood flooring. It's a nice way for little toes to meet a new day.

Step 9

Make a space for their collections. Bookshelves can store more than books--they're also a good way to showcase memorabilia. Hang pictures of superheroes, cartoon characters and sports figures or place them on shelves.

Step 10

Realize the importance of consulting with your grade-schoolers or preteens before you decorate their bedrooms. Many preteens will love taking more responsibility for a project like this. It allows them to express their individuality and even show off some innate design skills. Encourage and support their good choices, and provide the structure where needed.

Step 11

Find a big, soft chair or a bean bag and put it near a window or in a corner. It's place where a child, no matter what age, can dream, read or listen to music.

For storage:

Step 1

Make More Storage Space in the Closet

Adding additional rods for hanging clothes is a way to make more storage space in the closet.
⢠Take the existing clothes rod and re-install it at the height where dresses, pants, house coat, or other long items will hang just so they are off the ground.
⢠Install an additional rod above the first rod so shirts, skirts, suit jackets and shorter items will hang.
⢠Organize the clothes on each rod by color, season, etc.

Step 2

More Shelves Make More Storage Space

Instead of piling items on top of each other on one shelf, add shelves.
⢠Look in the closet, pantry, kitchen, and bathroom to see if more shelves can be added.
⢠Most existing shelves can be moved up or down a notch to provide the space necessary to hold items properly and provide room for additional shelves.
⢠Take all items off the shelves and organize according to height or how much the item is used.
⢠Start with the lowest possible position and put the most used items on the shelf.
⢠Place the second shelf one â two inches above the items on the lowest shelf and place the next items.
This will create more storage space for linens, clothes, food, cleaning items, etc.

Step 3

Storage Space - Canned Good Container

Make More Storage Space â Use Storage Containers

Storage containers can be plastic totes that stack on top of each other or pre-made units for closets, pantries, or other places in the home.
⢠Look around the home to see where items may be stacked and determine what needs to be stored appropriately to make more space.
⢠Look at a local hardware or retail store to find a storage container to properly store those items. Spice racks, canned good units, stackable closet drawers, DVD/CD storage units, under-the-bed containers for off-season clothes are all items that will create more space.
⢠Place items in the storage container and see how organization creates more space.

Step 4

Walls Make Storage Space

Best place to buy basic dorm things in London?

Jill

So I'm a US girl who is going to an arts college on the south east side of London. To avoid shipping hassles, and the fact that I'd rather not buy things like an alarm clock and lamp here, to then ship them with expensive fees and then pay more to get adapters for each item, I'm just going to skip the trouble and buy them over there since I'll arrive a few days early.

But I know just about nothing about UK stores and where to shop and get things, I've looked up a few things but I cant find equivalents of my go to stores over there, and I'm a little bit lost on which places will give me good quality but not break my bank.

So to you UK knowledgeable, wheres a good place to buy:
Sheets
Pillows
Desk lamps
Alarm clocks
Mini fridge
Cook wear (I'm told it's a shared kitchen but each student brings their own pots and pans)

and other dorm needed things. I much appreciate the help : )

Answer
hey~ congratulations! are you to going to goldsmiths or LCC?? ; )

you might be on a budget, bt try to get the best you can afford; cheap wears out faster, especially bedding. and always buy the best pillow you can get; totally worth it for for extra comfort!

ok, first, we dont have comforters here, only duvets, or occasionally sheet and blankets instead. & prices are higher than in the US.
you can get pretty much everything on your list from budget shops like argos.co.uk, which has a good website, but the quality isnt always the best. they do sell a lot of major brands, though, at cheap prices, so its worth a look ; ) & they have branches everywhere

mid priced stuff- again for *all* home stuff, as well as clothes & food, are marks & spencer, & john lewis. they are pretty standard, excellent uk brands. both have excellent quality, mid priced, own brand ranges, & john lewis sells other brands too. come into central london for an afternoon's shopping (a short bus or tube ride), & you can find HUGE branches of both shops at the marble arch tube station end of oxford street, which is a major shopping street. i bought a john lewis brand duvet a while ago, which is as good as a much more expensive one i also have. both shops have really helpful staff and exchange services if you make the wrong choice.
john lewis has some great duvet covers- http://www.johnlewis.com/Home+and+Garden/Bedroom/Duvet+Covers/Duvet+Covers/791/ProductCategory.aspx i like the ones with the rabbits, robins etc on them! if you buy all your stuff at m&s or j.lewis, they both allow you to pay then leave it, to collect later, which is handy. if your mattress is uncomfortable, you can buy mattress toppers, which are like duvets which tie over the mattress, & make it softer to sleep on~ http://www.marksandspencer.com/gp/search?field-keywords=matress+topper&viewID=results&intid=gnav_search&node=42966030

theres also ikea, of course, though there isnt a shop in central london, just one on the outskirts. might be worth the treck, as they are certainly the cheapest for decent quality bedding http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/categories/departments/bedroom/10651/ if you want to add some colour to your walls, you can buy huge curtains or pieces of fabric and pin it to the walls. try ikea, or online. thicker fabric will absorb sound a bit, which could be handy : )

for kitchen use, if there isnt one,do get a hand/stick blender. you can chuck (throw) some fruit, juice, yoghurt etc together and have a smoothie for breakfast in about 30 seconds. also makes soups-http://www.johnlewis.com/231003669/Product.aspx also makes cocktails w crushed ice. YOU NEED ONE. they do rule.

walking distance from j.lewis and m&s is regent's street, a beautiful curved regency street (200 years old) http://www.regent.st/Regent_Street_files/RegentStreet20040807_CopyrightKaihsuTai.jpg, and there's a big anthropologie store there. near the end of oxford street, next to the big m&s, is selfridges, which is a big department store. it has a bedding department, though it tends to be pricier- but could be handy if youre hankering after ralph lauren etc. they have a large food hall, which sells lots of american brands, so you can stock up on candy. there are also a few american sweet (candy) shops in london, though loads of brands are sold in normal supermarkets too.

habitat is a really nice shop with cool designs. there is a branch on tottenham court rd, which is a short bus or tube trip from oxford/regents street. clocks- the okko bird ones are cool! http://www.habitat.co.uk/clocks/accessories/fcp-category/list?resetFilters=true
like all the other shops, they also sell lighting, kitchen stuff, but it tends to be a bit cooler~ ive got this one http://www.habitat.co.uk/clocks/accessories/fcp-category/list?resetFilters=true & they have nice garland lights http://www.habitat.co.uk/charmed-led-fairy-light/decorative-lights-&-garlands//fcp-product/22537

if you want used items, try ebay and gumtree.com, but also post requests on freecycle.org, a site to give away/ask for stuff. you can pick up tvs, bikes etc that people want to get rid of, for free! i just offloaded some stuff, & picked up some vintage angle poise lamps. all useful for more expensive, bt fine to buy as used, like rugs, or lamps.

oh, & remember that any electricals you have will need converter plugs~ muji is another chain to browse round, with basics, http://www.muji.eu/pages/online.asp?V=1&Sec=18&Sub=76&PID=2211 so think about whether you want to bring strighteners, hair dryers etc over as well!

welcome to london~ how to have maximum fun! london magazine which lists everything; http://www.timeout.com/london/

New house, new room: Shabby Chic room help?

Inlansa

I am 14 years old and my parents have bought another house but this time it is in the city area. I am from the countryside but not the countryside with animals, cows, chickens and a dam or vegetable field.

And since my dad moved to work in the city area, the company again made him buy another house closer since it was 4 hours away. I think that they paid a little bit for the house, but it's really far away and I'm not sure I can cope. So I will show you some pictures on the website:

http://www.thehomepage.com.au/property/residential/34-tormey-street-balwyn-north/250231

By the way, this is not the real address, it's the Real Estate place.

This house is a lot smaller and there was originally furniture inside but my room was emptied since I am fussy.

My bedroom is going to be the second bedroom picture when you click right. It is not as big as the old one but it's more newer, which is good.

So my mum let me only change the furniture, add posters or pictures, add new curtains and rearrange things and I was wanting some ideas for a room.

So what I was looking for was a Shabby Chic bedroom. Go too Google images and see.

Is this possible for my room, or do you like it right now?

Give me some furniture links at any price since I don't have a limit at the moment.

Answer
Hi - first of all I must say what a beautiful and elegant house - you are a very lucky girl :)

Well, I have had a look on some sites and came across this one - the thing is I'm not sure if it is anywhere near where you are living and I don't live in the USA - so not sure how far these shops are away from you, but am sure you could get your furniture delivered.

Items of furniture for your room: Dressing Table/Desk, perhaps a couple of Dressers (Chest of Drawers) as you have a very large room. A Mirror above your desk/dressing table and a nice chair to sit at. Then it would be nice perhaps if you had a small coffee table with 2 chairs for when your friend comes to visit and you can chill out. Two bedroom night stands at each side of your bed. More or less set out how it is in the picture you supplied. With the added addition of course for the desk/dressing table and chair. And.. perhaps an ottoman at the end of your bed to put clean linen in? And a lamp either side of your bed.

Have a look at this link - this particular page has some nice desks specifically the kidney shape one and i love the pink chair too :) I know these say 'Vintage' but 'Vintage' and Shabby Chic are more or less the same in style :)

Because we can only put so many links on here - if you click on it to take you to the websites - you can then browse on that site at your leisure for each individual piece of furniture in the same style:

This site also gives you ideas for some wall art.

http://www.thebellacottage.com/furniture/vintage-one-of-a-kinds-2/desks.html

And... I don't know if you like these or not - but there are some 'wall crowns' to go above your bed - on this same site i.e. Also, have a look at some of their 'decorative accessories' you might find something you like :)

http://www.thebellacottage.com/wall-decor/bed-crowns.html

Hope the above has helped a little although when I was searching they were mainly uk and irish sites coming up as I live in Ireland :)

Answer
Try something gender-neutral like a jungle or farm theme with animals.

Nursery/Room Decor for boy & girl...?

Q. I'm getting more and more excited as my pregnancy continues. I know I'm only 8-9 weeks, but I'm going to have so much to do before the new baby gets here.

My husband, daughter, and I live in a two bedroom house. My husband and I have a room, and my daughter is in the other. Right now her room is a cream color on top and a honey color wood from mid wall to floor. Her room is decorated in a pink, purple, and green ladybug and flowers theme. All of her furniture is honey colored wood.

She and the new baby will have to share this room. I will eventually be moving her to a toddler bed and have the crib for the new baby. (I plan to put the new baby in a bassinet in my room to begin with).

If this baby is a girl, then I will have no problems in decorating. Just more pink will be fine. But what if its a boy? Any ideas on decor for a shared room for a boy and girl.

I was thinking maybe a farm theme? Maybe give her cow print bedding or something with a little pink, and can use the farm for a boy?

Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Building on is not an option right now, but may be later...

Answer
The farm thing sounds cute - anything animal related, forest, rain forest, frogs etc . . . is good for a co-ed room.

I have boy/girl twins in the same room. We have Winnie-the-Pooh - my daughter's stuff is classic Pooh and my son has the Disney Pooh. The walls are a bluish-purple and they have medium-brown wood furniture.

Congrats!

How to decorate a teenage girl's bedroom?

I want the theme to be "love" but I want to limit the pink because I ain't that girly. Right now, I am saving money to buy paint, but for now the walls are white. My bedspread is plain brown, i have one white dresser, and two brown desks in my room. I want to paint my room a deep red and pink border. I want to know some cheap ways to fix the theme, like i made a tissue paper flower, hung it on my wall, then cut out constuction letters and wrote in big letters "love". Any other ideas? REALLY IMPORTANT. What color curtains/bedspread/doilies should I have? And I have a lamp, what should I draw on it, just hearts? and Any other cheap things I can use/make to enhance the theme? Please and Thank you.

Tropical Latin or Hawaiian bedroom decor ideas?

robnog

It has to have purple and green because me and my sibling share the small room and she wants those colors. Please no girly ideas because I am a boy and she isn't girly.

Answer
Purple and green can be used as festive colors in a tropical themed bedroom. You might ask your parents to help you with a DIY tiki room theme. You can make many things yourself. Tropical flowers aren't girly. Think of the patterns on Hawaiian shirts. Think also of dried grassy fibers. Maybe your parents can get you an inexpensive rattan ottoman chairs and grassy rugs. You can add pineapple or surfer style lamps. You can decorate with seashells or anything that makes you think of the ocean. With your parents' permission, maybe you can look on Pinterest for beach bedroom decor ideas. If you can find better prices than world markets for coconut shells and paper umbrellas, that would be great too. You can also use the words such as tropical rainforest, parrots, and tiki to find more ideas. Are you proud of your sandals? Believe it or not some people decorate with a beach sandal theme.

Help with a 1950's bedroom theme?

Q. Hi.
I would like to make my bedroom into a 1950's themed bedroom. I have a white daybed which I think would suit the theme. Some framed black and white pictures of Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley might also work. Records and 45's hung up on the walls would be cool as well. Do you have any other ideas? Any and all would be appreciated. Thank-you.

What would be a good decor scheme for a bedroom shared by 3 year old girl and baby boy?

starlight_

We're having a baby boy and for the time being (until we get a bigger place) my 3 year old daughter and he will share a room. My daughter already has everything decked out in pink and full of princess accessories. I haven't bought my crib set or anything like that for my boy yet. How could I have them share a room and have it all tie in together so it doesn't look like one side is for a boy and one for a girl? I'm also looking for relativley affordable options, since they will probably only share for one year at the most. And my paint options are limited. I would have to go with something nuetral so I can easily paint it back to white before we move again, or maybe put up a border to dress up the walls.

Answer
Try a nature theme. Blues, pinks, purples, greens and yellows with rainforest animals, farm life or underwater life is gender non specific. These themes will "grow up" with your kids and not be outdated in a few years.

Does your kids bedroom have a theme?

SmEllY!

My daughters bedroom at the moment is kinda jungle themed with a very faint green colour on the walls (was like that when we moved in) and I just put removable jungle animals everywhere and there is a big bright 3D canvas elephants wall hanging and a green stripey rug on the floor. We are moving house and next year want to have another baby, we are hoping the new baby is a boy in which case he can have the jungle theme and my daughter can have something else. The problem is that I already have her toddler bed and it has the little mermaid on it, I HATE ARIEL!! I can't stand it but Im not throwing it away, we havent even used it yet, I was thinking maybe an under the sea theme for her? She likes fish and she loves nemo, but would her room look stupid with nemo and various other fishy things and then a stupid Ariel right in the middle? Sorry I really hate ariel.

Answer
aww ariel was always my fav. >.<' but anyway i think as long as you went with fish that were cartoonish looking it would be perfectly fine. why not try to use all the disney underwater charaters? or try to just use all the disney princesses and not use an underwater theme?

i dunno about the bed but couldnt you strip it or repaint it? sand her off? though that depends on how deep shes carved in. or if nothing else put something over ariel? a big sticker/picture that was blown up or something? anyway best of luck ^_^ im sure you'll figure it out.

Teen boy bedroom decorating ideas?

KP

I am looking for ideas on decorating a teen boy's bedroom in a video gamer style/theme room, but I don't have any ideas on how to do this. Does anyone have any good ideas? What colors would be best to use? What types of decorating items could I use? Thanks!

Answer
Well to start with a gaming teen boy will most likely not care what his decor is, unless it directly affects his gaming, or is game related... (well none that I have met care anyway) so I wouldn't go toooo far with decorating, leave the walls neutral, and put these up, I know it is old now, but they're so old they're now retro kitsch
space invaders wall decals (they also come in pacman) http://www.patriciafield.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=354
Unfortunately this thing is only avail in eastern europe, but WOW! http://blog.wired.com/gadgets/images/2007/10/18/2battleprobig_2.jpg
back to reality though, for bedding I'd just use a totally plain cover that will wear well, the focus isn't about a bed cover in this room, so patterns or designs would be overbearing, unless of course he finds one he is crazy about??
For some great gaming seating target has lots but check this one out, its a sound lounger that is compatible with any audio device... http://www.target.com/Blue-Pyramat-Sound-Lounger-PM550/dp/B00069FEZ6/sr=1-2/qid=1216943582/ref=sr_1_2/602-9342378-8675002?ie=UTF8&index=target&field-original-keywords=Pyramat%20PM220%20Sound%20Rocker&rh=k%3Apyramat%20pm550%20sound%20rocker&page=1
but target has other gaming seating that is pretty cool... http://www.target.com/Video-Game-Furniture-Games-Electronics/b/602-9342378-8675002?ie=UTF8&node=13921431
and for console and games storage there are these two..

For all your other furniture I still think IKEA covers everything teens need, http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/categories/departments/youth_room but to suit your theme, I'd start with the gaming accessories and then match the furniture, bedding and walls etc, for a cool take though, these lighting strips look fantastic (and if he's gaming overhead light isn't a great idea) http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50119407
I'd also use something like the tupplur roll blind to block out light, http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/categories/departments/youth_room/10701/
and these glass globes look fantastic alone or on top of a little ikea light (can't remember its name but glass globe and light cost me about $20 together) and really look amazing in a darkened room.. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90065662
Other than that, I'd be trying to find some posters of his favorite games, not making the room too bright, and here are a few other smaller ideas to accessorise the room (retro again but he may be too young to appreciate it??) http://www.fredflare.com/customer/product.php?productid=3714&cat=254

and last but not least, how tech savvy are you? because the score board is fantastic, but requires a bit of skill (and money) to do... (you'll have to scroll down) http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,1935015,00.asp

little girls bedroom decor help needed!?

misscassie

I am redoing my girls room(they are 4 and 2,share a room) Here is the bedding that will be in there:

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5499619

http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=huc_ic_3_txt/188-0384017-5148334?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B001E8MWLC&nodeID=&merchantID=A1VC38T7YXB528

My problem is which one of these wallpaper borders goes best with the bedding?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=330295668878

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=390018534411

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=390019443721
thank you all! so glad that it all matches! i really loved the set at walmart and had such a hard time finding a set for younger daughter. i wanted the same color scheme and flowers, but without using the same bedding on both!

Answer
I like the first one the best, but I almost think you might want to avoid a wallpaper border? In just a few years your oldest will be "tween" age and will probably want to redecorate again! If you forget about the border and use really cute widow curtains, framed prints and/or a cute little bulletin board/ chalk board, then when your girls want an "older" looking room you can just switch those things out and get new bedding! No repainting/ wallpaper removal necessary!

If you do want to stick with the border, though, I think the first one is really cute and would go well with both bed sets. Good luck!

Answer
James was a great help:) Ok so here we go. For small rooms it's great to use a light colors because it seems to open up a room. So keep the colors light. Too keep a room from getting too dark if you still want to use a darker color then have an accent wall with your bed against it. This will make it the focal point. Then you can paint the rest of it white so you have the best of both worlds; a light an airy room, and that dark color you wanted. Or you can have a white room with the accent color teal and something else if you want.
I love the look of teal and coral together. I think color teal is the most beautiful color ever.. As of yesterday.. For right now.
What's the point of having windows if they're gonna be closed all the time? Keep your windows open (the curtains at least) and let the light in. Having natural light in gives the room that great light and airy feeling.
Another great reason to have natural lighting. This doesn't really have to do with anything, it's just a great tip. If you have good natural lighting then put your alarm clock near that lighting. The light is like your body's alarm clock so when your alarm clock goes off you will feel a lesser need to roll over and go back to sleep.
No matter how big your room is you usually don't see people trying to make their room smaller. Another great way to keep your room open is to use multipurpose furniture. Things that have storage in them. Like an ottoman doubles as a foot rest and a storage place to keep books and other things. Make sure your night stands have storage space in them instead of using a stool.
Designs: Since your room would most likely look tacky if you used all your favorite patterns on the walls, so try to incorporate them in your decor. You can have chevron, polka dots, and striped pillows and picture frames and things like that and it will still look fine.
I'll give you all of the links that I found. Most of them have coral in them and some have teal in it and they look great together. If you end up loving it like I did then these will be helpful for redoing:

This one is actually a light blue but I thought it was pretty so I bookmarked it:

Teen Juicy Couture Bedroom?

I have started a little by doing the bed

http://s581.photobucket.com/albums/ss254/laydee-shrimpton/?action=view&current=DSC02748.jpg

And I plan on getting this Cushion for the bed
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/1007583/Trail/searchtext%3ECUSHION.htm

What Could I do about the wall? I was thinking of painting them all chalkpink and Having a feature wall (The wall behind my bed)

like this:
http://www.roomzaar.com/rate-my-space/Girls-Rooms/Purple-Stardom/detail.esi?oid=14518839
but in pink

With this photo (framed in gold or dark brown frame)

Or Instead of the Painting above the bed, I would hang up a canapy and hang the painting above my desk? Do you think It would look nice? Any more ideas, please share them, I'd love to Know! x

Answer
Great choice with making your room Juicy themed! I recently did this to my room (you can have a look at it here) - http://www.roomzaar.com/rate-my-space/Girls-Rooms/My-Juicy-Couture-Inspired-Room/detail.esi?oid=15434338

I noticed Juicy seem to focus on baby pink, brown and highlights of gold, so I suggest doing your feature wall (the wall behind your bed), in brown and baby pink stripes, then painting the rest of your room in baby pink (chalk pink, same thing really).

Stick with white furniture, and include gold highlights like gold frames, chains, handles on the furniture, etc. around the room.

Do include things like photos of Juicy Couture products or related things (the photo you included in your question is a brilliant example). Frame them in gold frames or just collage them, but don't make it too cluttered!

Hope I helped out and good luck!
